Some guy is offering trades on a well-known video channel with the first name 'Ray'.
It is NOT me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do not trade.
I do not sell.
I do not have 'every edition of TOTP from 1976! (wish I did).
The existence of this profile/person was pointed out to me by a contact who stated that ('if it's TOTP-collecting-related, and he's called Ray with a POSSIBLY made up surname, people will think it's you').
My friend suggested someone was trying to smear me, in fact!
And, begrudgingly, I take the point this is entirely possible. This person has been active for only two days! Since I was preparing for my op!!!!
I do not trade footage - I try and locate stuff, and point out where it is, that's all. Any footage I have I've either bought legitimately, and I do not resell it.

We on here all know you Ray and that you would NEVER do anything like that !
- rest assured you have a strong reputation on here & other forums too as a tireless, determined, and 'dogged' researcher (a sort of 'missing TV Columbo in a Saints shirt' !!) who is ONLY interested in tracking down lost TV & Radio material etc so that it can be hopefully restored & preserved for all our enjoyment/entertainment and regarded as the important cultural item it is (even if some more modern TV rather defies that description...! )
your work (and that of other hunters) in this field is of great importance and should not be underrated
so never fear, we KNOW you well Ray ...now don't worry, just go and get yourself fully fit mate !

Beware this guy. He's a well known scummer, he used lots of different names & e-mails and try to steal rare footage from collectors offering his rare footage (which he didn't have) and usually asked to send your footage first. He then dissapear.

I wish you hadn't used the phrase 'scummer' Eugene - that's a P#rtsmo#th derogatory phrase for a Saints fan!!!! (which I am!)
I have a good idea who it is. And they are well-known in collecting circles, I'm told.

A good rule of thumb is to always treat offers of rare/missing material with caution. If they want other rare/missing material in return first, treat with extreme caution. If they want money, walk away.
Unless of course you're happy to part with something for nothing.

I've been asking this guy some questions as a prospective 'buyer' about certain missing editions he's listed. As Eugene has mentioned, he doesn't have what he's advertising which leads me to believe he's falsely linking himself to the notorious PVL which I've heard is safely back at the BBC - correct, Ray?

I have had some weirdo impersonate me before now online. Odd habit. If that Craig Cartmell is the fellow doing this in this instance, I had a quick look at his facebook, he really needs to get a new wardrobe as a matter of some urgency  A definite contender for worst dressed man, ever. |

the notorious PVL which I've heard is safely back at the BBC - correct, Ray? The PVL website doesn't seem to be online anymore. It normally came up quite high on the google list, but now there's just something to do with a staphylococcus. Googling Private Video Library was equally unrewarding. |

The people who 'claim' to be PVL have sold so many bootleg DVDs around the internet that now multiple people are trying to reclaim their monies by claiming to be PVL. It's a chain of people selling to people selling to people to make back their money. As far as I know, the footage is anywhere and everywhere lol. I'm sure if the BBC want it, fifty people could return it now, but the BBC are not very keen since the technical quality is poor.
Many years ago Kal offered to restore the master tapes but I have no idea where they are anymore.
