Possibly a crossover? "It's Christmas Eve and the Lyons family end up with an extra mouth to feed." sounds like the Mekon.

This is a snafu from when Dan Dare was last aired. I think they tried to use a DD page as a template for the Xmas ed. of Lyons. Its been there for at least a year. A minor snafu compared to the numerous truncations due to mis-timings that happen on iPlayer almost daily.

As has been commented on here many times the automatic capping of various streams of radio programmes from Radio 4X and others sometimes is out of sync. so the beginning or ending of a file on iPlayer is truncated. Then a complaint has to be made to the Beeb, after which the streams are re-capped with the correct timing. It happens all of the time. TV programmes seems to OK. Its Radio that the problems are with.

Ah. Thanks for explaining. I can't recall coming across that specifically, but it sounds like the kind of thing they'd do. I have a vague feeling I might have found something like it in the past.

I've finally got the Lyons films on DVD. In the interview with Val Guest, which is an extra, he mentions their earlier Hi Gang! film, which was made at the time of their earlier HG radio series.
