I've just started on a 45-year ban on posting or even reading anything on Roobarb, so this'll have to be from memory:
Someone (sorry I can't credit the name) recently pointed out there that all the dirt-cheap pre-orders on this title seem to have been cancelled and refunded by Amazon, and/but it was still/newly relisted there, albeit with a 2099 holding-date for release. New pre-orders are being accepted. Might this reaLLy be a cause for hope?

Mind you,I've said some awful things about Ginger and Algy at times! The nearest we've had to the Biggles series on DVD is a section of The Road to Coronaton Street which re-enacted some of the filming, and Tony Warren's involvement. I'd love the show to be released.

PLEASE POST UNDER A FULL REAL NAME PLEASE, AS THE RULES CLEARLY STATE. THANKS. THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF NEW MEMBERS POSTING LATELY WHO ARE NOT READING THE FORUM RULES FIRST, SO IN FUTURE, I WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DELETING POSTS WHICH DON NOT COMPLY WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE, AS IT WASTES A LOT OF TIME HAVING TO KEEP REMINDING PEOPLE WHO CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO CHECK FIRST! - Laurence
Thanks for the warm welcome Laurence! <sarcasm intended> And while I did give my 1st name & other personal data, apparently that's not enough. P.S. Only took me 6 yrs to get back here for the 2nd time. In fact, I only just yesterday received my 1st auto email from this site [after all this time] saying further posts have been made...have a great day.

Welcome (back) to Missing Episodes, KJ.
I should have said that the pre-orders are on Amazon, not Network itself.
I see that a CD of Biggles Flies North (abridged) read by Micharl Palin was released a few years ago.

Speaking of Australia, Youtube notes: "Even though the Biggles books by Captain W. E. Johns were popular worldwide, Australia was the only country in the world to make them into a radio serial. It was called The Air Adventures of Biggles and it consisted of 1178 episodes of continuing 15 minute serials were produced from July 1949 until March 1954. One change that was made from the books to the radio serials was the introduction of a female lead character, Patsy. There was no female lead in the books, and it is believed that several Biggles purists were most upset at this change at the time. The shows themselves are very exciting, being well produced with a strong narrative, great music and effective sound effects." www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-3KRhjJ77wAnyone know how many survive?
