Hello, wondering if anyone has any info or can suggest a source about what exists of Granada's Biggles TV series from the late 50's/early 60's.
My father was a regular in this series & I'd love to know what's out there. Any help greatly appreciated!

There's at least one episode in existence, as a clip has been shown in recent years (either TV Heaven or in something relating to Tony Warren of Coronation Street, as he worked on it briefly). Granada can be difficult to get information out of, but they are also pretty good at retaining their material, so it may be there are a number of editions. It might be best to write to Granada explaining your connection - they might tell you!

We are showing an episode next Saturday at our next event.
A wonderful show, the paperwork is so poor that we bought most of the surviving eps so we could actually find out what they were for our new Drama Guide.

Thanks for your responses. I may try Granada directly to see what they have... Would love to make it the event this weekend but am unable to. Have a great time!

I think "Biggles on the Home Front" was episode 2. Ep 1 is lost. I'll try and confirm.

I didn't know Biggles was missing. How terrible! I guess this explains why it hasn't been released on DVD.

Thanks to everyone for their assitance, advice etc. I've just found the ITV archive website & am glad to have discovered 11 episodes survive (far more than I expected!)

Thanks for the good news - eleven episodes is definitely better than one! Do you know which eleven episodes survive? (Do you have a link?)

It says 'Presented here are all 44 episodes of this classic series' - so is nothing missing then? Stuart

Stuart According to this page, far fewer than 44 were made (24 in fact) of which, as mentioned earlier, only about half survive. www.cherishedtelevision.co.uk/biggles.htmlConfusing Stuart Everything about the information is a bit weird and doesn't add up. For instance, my first hope was that it was a mere typo. They wrote "All 44 episodes" when they meant "All 24 episodes." Easy enough mistake. To test this theory I checked their total running time. The total running time is listed as approximately 1100 minutes. This seemed...wrong. 24 episodes, at 30 minutes each, would only yield 720 minutes running time. So, what's with the other 400 minutes?!
