Hi, I have asked about this before somewhere else over the web but I wondered if any of you on here could help me..? In 1994 they filmed a 8 minute special of keeping up appearances for children in need. Since then it has not been made available and it seems the only person who has a copy is the admin on the keeping up appearances forum and they seem to refuse to show it as it is copyright?? Would this short episode be in the bbc archives somewhere? Where could it be it can't just be lost. Please help!!
Thanks!!

Would this short episode be in the bbc archives somewhere? Where could it be it can't just be lost. Please help!! Thanks!! The title of this thread ("Keeping Up Appearances Children In Need Special 1994 Lost!!") is a bit misleading. What you mean is that you can't find a copy. That's quite a different thing. I sympathise with that, I have some things myself that I KNOW were recorded or otherwise copied, but which their holders won't share with me for various reasons (including "I can't be bothered to search my attic"). One item I can't find is from as recent as December 2002 (look back at the jubilee with Rowan Atkinson and Dame Edna). But I also sympathise with webmasters and admins and moderators who are not keen on being seen promoting possibly illegal trading (and even with the guy who refuses to go on a hunt in his own attic at my command). So, you'll have to wait, contact Children in Need, or keep an eye on the places where a copy might turn up, or find an argument to convince that admin.

A lot of skits made for charity seemed to be in the same copyright tangle like Dimensions In Time.
One exception are 2 Alan Partridge segements shot for Comic Relief that are on the I'm AP DVD's.

One place you could try is the BFI, they MIGHT have a copy or be able to get hold of one, if you have a valid reason.

I'm surprised that a recent one like could be considered missing.

I've amended the thread title so that fans of Patricia Routledge don't choke on their cornflakes whilst browsing the forum.

The Kal Comedy Research Guide (the 1996 ones) mention a CIN for "Keeping Up..." in 1995 (24/11/95), but not for 1994. Were there two, or is somebody here wrong?

There might be something in that, the US DVD sets often have extras (more/different/at all) that the UK sets don't. True for Yes Minister, Blackadder, and The Young Ones that I know of.

So 1995, not 1994, not missing, and a simple case of ordering the US box set.
As Inspector Clouseau said, "The case is sol-ved."

It depends if the youtube video is the same as on this DVD set and the same as the OP meant.
Those amazon sellers who have the nerve to ask ten times the original price for a dvd (I'm talking about worse examples than this one) just because they're selling the only one, I wonder if they're simply crazy or if they sometimes really are succesful? After all, it only takes one loony with a credit card and you're in.

Good points.Quite a few of which would have been solved had the KUA boxed sets in the UK had more details about their contents.I got the impression that the reviews were generally strongly unhelpful, too (when they were actually about the pictured product).Bless the reviews which start,"I have this set,and in case, you're wondering-and since it's not listed in the product-information-this is what you get for your money...". This is a handy thread: www.zetaminor.com/roobarb/showthread.php?43005-British-TV-shows-available-exclusively-outside-the-UK

The cover of that DVD set, I presume. Of course, it might not tell all. And now I guess it's really up to the OP to read all our advice and decide what action to take. Perhaps on the KUA forum he mentioned someone who owns the set can give a full run down of its contents.
