For me, the channels of choice for Drama in the UK are BBC4, Sky Atlantic, Sky Arts and occasional offerings on Fox and Living. Some really strong drama about at the moment.

Sky's Playhouse Presents is one of the few current play anthology series in the UK and is a bit hit and miss but has had some cracking plays. A couple of standouts from season 1, Will Self's Minor Character was nasty but enjoyable. Mathew Holness' The Snipist, about a Sniper surviving in a rabies infested Britain would have fitted in well in series 3 of Out of the Unknown - high praise indeed. Quite a few duffers IMHO, but well worth a look.

Anyone seen The Legacy, the latest Danish Noir offering on Sky Arts 1. From the same team that brought us Borgen and The Killing, it's about a family at war over an inheritance. Compelling viewing so far, with every main character becoming less sympathetic each episode. Definitely worth a look if you enjoyed Borgen.

Just finished watching season 2 of Prisoners Of War, the original Israeli series that inspired Homeland. What can I say, gripping plot, excellent acting, amazing - quite the best thing I've watched in ages. Really nailed it this season, season 1 was very good but this was something else again. IMHO a must watch. (In Hebrew with subtitles). Another excellent foreign language drama shown on Sky Arts.

Fortitude (Sky Atlantic). This is turning into an atmospheric gripper of a program. Set on an Arctic Island where nothing much really happens, a killing stuns the community and things become progressively more strange as time goes on. Excellent cast, strong performances and a brooding Lynch like atmosphere. If you haven't watched it, give it a go. An original.

30' In February is a Swedish Drama series on Sky Arts following people's lives as they spend time in Thailand. Just watched the second part and looking interesting, similar feel to the excellent Legacy.

What did everyone think about Gillian Anderson's performance in The Fall?

Interesting question. The Fall was quite an unsettling series, with Gillian Anderson's character being far from sympathetic in many ways, personally I thought it was well acted and a nice change from the good lady cop so often portrayed in detective series. A big thumbs up from me!

I have something new (to me) that is well worth checking out chaps! A Norwegian TV series called 'Hellfjord'. I watched the first episode earlier this evening and I was completely riveted the whole way through. Very dark and surreal humour, with some hilarious dialogue; I would definitely recommend this one to anyone who likes the unusual. English subtitles are floating around too.

Game of Thrones is back on Sky in the UK. The first episode of Season 5 seems just as good as ever.
