The clip that really mystifies me and the one i would dearly love to see is the See Emily Play Performance from The Pat Boone Show i wonder what happened to this clip is it still around somewhere did they actually perform it on the show is it wiped i just wonder where it is maybe one day it might turn up. The guy who had the Syds first trip VHS actually described that scene to me. Syd just standing there - apparently 'off his face'. This would have been in 93. There was no way he would have seen the actual broadcast. I would assume he read about it??

Wow. Would love to see the Arnold Layne clip. www.youtube.com/watch?v=luGTe37WyskThat looks like a reupload. The clip appeared for the first time on youtube on the day Syd died. before that nobody knew it existed (apart from the person who uploaded it obviously).

I think those details are probably wrong, Alan. The "Echoes" book has the most accurate listing of early Floyd TV appearances to date, although one or two things are a bit vague. According to that source, they performed The Gnome and Chapter 24 on Pat Boone (which seem more likely as Emily had been out of the charts for a while by then and if they had promoted any singles on the show, it would more likely have been Apples & Oranges, which was current). On the subject of the Fan Club appearance(s) mentioned earlier though, another likely possibility may be that the group only appeared the once for the show but performed two songs. One (Arnold Layne) was shot on location as a film insert (which is maybe the reason it survives?) and the other (Candy & A Currant Bun?) was a mimed studio performance, which possibly went when the programme was wiped. I don't know much about the archive status of Fan Club generally but this might explain the other "mysterious" appearance about which little is known.

A lot of those Pink Floyd Database details you linked to are old / out of date info, replaced by the stuff in the "Echoes" book, as already mentioned / posted. I'd love for more of this lost material to surface although I don't think copyright will have anything to do with whether or not it does (unfortunately).

Thanks for the info Laurence i won't be quoting much from that site if it's out of date i didn't realise that , so it seems like the only tv show they performed Emily on was totps .

It's looks that way, Alan, yes. So let's hope that a more complete performance of one of the TOTP appearances turns up eventually.
