Nothing comes along for months....and then like buses, two bits arrive at once. I do well finding Liberace and Dusty footage. While trying to hunt down colo(u)r Piccadilly Palace clips - I trip over this:- www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUYMhBHmP4Q""Missing or incomplete episodes for programme THE LIBERACE SHOW. 25.05.69 with Phyllis Diller, Dusty Springfield, Millicent Martin, Richard Wattis, Georgina Moon A 16mm black-and-white film print exists, but the programme was originally made using 2" colour videotape."" I expect it all exists in colour somewhere, probably in the vault of some building in New York. There are quite a few clips on youtube from this series and apparently it's all out on DVD somewhere. The Americans have gone for the option of releasing the material that's Liberace solo,or in duet with e.g.Rolf Harris, rather than full shows, worse luck.

Yep indeedy. I've listed the shows that are online before! It's a great article though, and thank you for listing this - ironically I only saw this yesterday!

End credits of Celebrity Squares 7th April 1979, which is missing. Who knows, maybe the uploader has the whole show. I'll leave it to Ray's expert hands to contact him. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMUg7CwBw24

ST adresses his audience as "you younsters" so it might be Junior Police 5.
Does anyone know what's the archive status?

A great deal of Police Five's from the LWT era and also TVS (it is often forgotten TVS did a version up until 1992)are gone.

As far as I know Granada never did a version of Police Five.
I can understand why a lot of P5 were wiped, but would copies of editions need to be kept if any of the cases featured went to court to be used as evidence?

Police Five basically just was reporting on the info the local police had given them, so I don't think retention of the programme was a priority. At LWT, Shaw Taylor could do the show in one tahe on and old 2 inch machine, reportedly....

I'm not sure if this is a new find or a new upload - but seeing as I'm very tentatively trying to return to actively hunt down footage, I'll take anything. And, the bonus....the quality is fairly good and it's a full show.... This is S13 E10 of Play Away.... (28.01.84 Episode 10 (missing)).... www.youtube.com/watch?v=viL19BOTkKo

Granada did ,in fact, have its own version of Police5 . It was called Police file mainly presented by Chris Kelly (scene at 6.30, anything you can do and clapperboard) and sometime Bob Greaves. It was tagged onto the end of the northern news or Granada reports.
