If more than 1 company is doing the animations then it could mean more will be released in a shorter time period if each company works on a different story at the same time.106 missing but 7 now being animated so less than 100 left!

I like this a lot. There are some very subtle character touches there that really add depth to the animation.

I don't have a problem with this style of animation, I think it works well in the context of filling the holes in mostly complete serials. But it would be hard to swallow if they used it for say, a straight 4 or 6 part story. I wouldn't want to sit through an animated Power of the Daleks of this quality.
I think its only a matter of time before ALL missing episodes are animated, but I would rather wait a few more years for the quality to increase and the cost to drop.

Perhaps something like this old favourite ? www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXacKOtcHbo

Great! It looks right, black and white, simple three camera setup, and tight closeups. That's going on my shopping list.

I really hope they put info text option on the animated episodes like they did on the Invasion release. It was missed off the Reign of Terror animated episodes which was a terrible mistake.Even though the episodes are not live-action,information subtitles about the production,or even just the changes in the scenes due to the animation are a must!

Not a lot you can do about it if the production subtitles are completed long before the animation is completed, as was the case with Reign.

And before any one asks why couldn't they do info text prior to the animation, the way the text is coded and 'added' to the picture is time-coded to the precise second of a scene /camera shot change. Without the animation available, there are no time-coded scene or shot changes to match the text to.

Certainly Mr Troughton could do with a shave on the model sheet, Simon. And Victoria looks a bit too small. But I'm glad they're doing this one.

There a good stories and good episodes, great stories and great episodes. The Ice Warriors is a good story, but parts 1-4 are great episodes.
(IMVHO of course)

It's done to the original camera script, so all the shots are pretty much you would have seen them in the transmitted episodes. Don't forget they have the telesnaps as the visual guide as well. This and TENTH PLANET pt.4 will be much more accurate representations of the missing episodes than THE REIGN OF TERROR.
