Despite some television engineering disciplines being, in the past, almost exclusively male dominated, were television studios built with the same number of women's as men's conveniences?
If there were loos, next to a telecine room, for example, could the unused ladies lavatory next to the gent's, have ended up being used as an unofficial storage room for film cans, and the cans remain there, forgotten?
I am aware that this suggestion may sound a bit comical, but still think that it is worth thinking about.

I would think that would be very doubtful. It did just give me a somewhat amusing mental image of a woman... going to the toilet on a pile of missing Doctor Who film cans though.

Hehehe ;D
And as toilets are generally cleaned at least once a day (sometimes as many as three or four times) I'm sure the cleaners would have complained about the obstruction and had the cans removed. (The film can - not the toilet can)

Wasn't a missing episode of Under Manning found under a toilet seat when Meridian moved out of Northam Studios last December?

I had a weird dream last night in which ten film cans were found underwater by divers, three of which turned out to be missing Doctor Who episodes. Only just remembered that! I remember [in the dream] being confused how they'd got there and how they hadn't been erased by the water. Can't remember which episodes they were, though I think an episode of The Power of the Daleks was amongst them. ;D
I need to spend less time here...

Talking about places were lost TV eps may be found, does anyone have any idea of what exactly went on when Rediffusion kicked the bucket in 1968 and what happened to their libary? I have it on good authority that it was all dumped in the basement of the IBA HQ-at last years MBW an A-R filmed docu about the Barrow Poets was shown. This was one of the films that was being thrown out by Rediffusion when they ceased braodcasting but whoeve was in charge of seeing what should be kept and what should end up in the back of "thunderbird 3",ie corporation dustcart, they got in touch with the producer and asked if she wanted the film as a souviner. Luckily she accepted the offer of the print which is why it survives today. But even though A-R shows like Riveria Police,Ratcatchers, and the one with William franklin that was shot on location in Rio de Janerio, has anyone ever bothered to contact these overseas TV stations to see if they have missing shows in their archives? I know there has been something like this happen in the past, but probably not enough attention has been paid to searching out every nook and cranny. Or perhaps there locked away somewere in a disused victorian underground khazi that was last used during the boer war. And some of these old deep level London transport built bomb shelters from the last war that are now used as storage facillites for documents and films/VT's-do we really know whats being kept down there? I know Thames/fremantle use the Goode Street shelter to store a lot of there programs, but it's not the sought of place you can get acess to. Anyway, keep looking in those toilets, you never know what you may find when your working in the dark down below-and please lift the seat up before checking for any film cans. You may end up being flushed with sucess. Hang on,wer'nt some good deals done in the gents khazi at ATV house in the good old days,or is that just a bog standard rumor? And I'll be back right after this ad for Domestos-that's actually a Greek house cat,not a toilet bleach by the way!TTFN!

The question we should all ask us is "Where would YOU hide, if you were a missing episode?".

The question we should all ask us is "Where would YOU hide, if you were a missing episode?". Well... If I was a missing episode I'm not sure if I'd hide in a place where the first thing I saw in the morning was the crack of Dawn. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
