And to Neil... I'm really not sure about that, I'm sure someone else can explain that one... but the 1970 compilation reel was known about as early as 1973 as it was utilised in the '10 years of Pop' special in December. As was the 1965 TOTP videotape material which was also used in that 1973 show, which I read sometime ago on here was the earliest existing Bob Pratt tape... I've heard it was a combination of the two. Bob was still recording tapes in the very early 80's. Which makes me wonder WHEN Bob actually saved these items... was he saving them as he went along between 1965 and whenever the tapes ended or he grabbed copies before they were wiped in the early to mid 70's?

Looking through the internet It is mentioned in several forums
that Bob had 34 reels of tapes in his collection - seems like a
fair amount - does that equate to 34 hours of 2" Quad tape
or were they short reels ?
or where they copied onto differant formats as he went along ?

(in Kenny Everett voice, circa 1975)....If only someone could get a hold of the list of Bob Pratt's tapes - even one that was a few years old - there was one floating around then - and publish it on here - that would be amazing - even if most of it had been shown (the last being the Bonzos last TV appearance at Kal at Pop Goes the Talbot) - I mean that would be amazing....
I wish I could control this keyboard properly....cut-and-pasting things....ah....

Worth pointing out that the above list looks like the version from a while back, which was still incomplete at that stage. It's still a useful reference to have, all the same.

Many thanks for this information that many of us have been wanting to see for a long time. Poses quite a few curious questions! Bob sure was a big Rolling Stones fan.

I've often wondered where that live performance of Amoureuse in the list comes from. No source is given.

I know this will be known but I remember vividly a clip of 'The Letter' by Joe Cocker being shown on Pop Quiz. I loved the clip back then as a teenager but I've never seen it since?? Love that it's a Bob Pratt salvage.....!!
Great list, thank you.

Chris
Is there any chance of KAL doing an interview with Bob Pratt at one of your future music events?
Please see the current thread on Bob if you haven't browsed through it already.
He would make a great guest and I am sure there are many people who frequent this forum and who attend your events that would like to see this hero of saving precious music material interviewed.
Regards
