Hi Guys, This is intriguing. Does anyone know if its new stuff which has been donated to the BFI or has it just never been catalogued properly? Could be wrong here? but some of it appears to have been just copied from the IMDB and may be no indication of actual holdings at all ?

Just a note (before I bother continuing my little search), if they were copying from IMDB, would it not contain *every* episode of a series, and not just the few that are there. Sometimes they don't appear to list episodes that we know *do* exist.

Maybe some of the info is lifted from the "old" BFI database (which is my concern), which was merely a confusing listing of some programmes that were made in a series (although not necessarily all of a series!) and not bearing any relation to archive holdings either! I'm holding my breath on this one until it's clear what we're reading here.

Worth bearing in mind that the searches being done here are through the 'Search Your Film Archives' portal which searches several regional film archives plus the BFI and London federation. Some contributors have listed news items such as ATV Today items on the filming of Anita in Jumbleland which are nothing to do with the BFI and are held at MACE. As far as I know the BFI don't have a 'search your archives' button on their own website so it can only be searched from other locations.

I would have thought the BFI would have made some attempt to hold at least a few Anita in Jumblelands? It was an innovative show for its day, shot on colour o/b VTR in a large Shepperton Studio with all the tech that was available at the time such as blue screen overlay to produce a kids fantasy enviroment .... plus of course the much underrated Anita Harris.

Phil, Sorry about listing the ATV 'Jumbleland' piece in the wrong place.I knew there was interest in the show, and wasn't sure that people knew about it-same I suppose goes for the 'Tiswas' news items.

On and O/T....3 Anita in Jumblelands exist. One at Fremantle, and two (edited to make one show) in UCLA.

The BFI/NFA have the full list as compiled by you all, and now we await their confirmation/denial. They said "it will take some time to work through such a big list".
I will let you know as they tell me.

My speculation - and it is just that - is that it's a combination of the two.

Third possibility - the "missing" list is wrong, and some of these discoveries already exist. As happened with the New Faces list.

With the New Faces, it was just that lostshows hadn't been updated. A great many of those were only uncovered after the list was originally done. The shows were not originally listed at the archive holders, at least publicly....so in that instance, although not the BFI, it was not the makers of lostshows.com's fault!
