Or I don't know if another company could have played back a recording later just for Border TV? I'm not sure how sophisticated the network system was. It's entirely possible - the signals could be routed pretty much anywhere, the main limitation was the number of lines in/out of a station. My reasoning for thinking that Border made its own local copy is that the turnaround from the end of the Border screening and the start of the ATV etc. one seems quite short. It would be possible with 1" but I am not certain about whether the 2" recorders they used then would have managed it.

How do I get into contact with Chris Perry of kaleidoscope? And also, what is Kaleidoscope? You can contact Chris either by personal messaging him here or via the Kaleidoscope website: www.kaleidoscope.org.uk/

What a great afternoon and evening. Depending which ITV region you were in you had either The Saint or The Avengers, plus The Golden Shot, Joe 90 and Judy Garland at the London Palladium. While on BBC: The Forsyte Saga, World About Us and an Omnibus film about Wordsworth.

Aye - a marked contrast to the drivel that is on today. Bank Holidays usually had some interesting stuff dug out but now? Just pretty much the same old same old drivel we get thrown at us week in, week out.

Yes i've always said although we have all these channels now , in a strange way there is less to watch because it's all the same old rubbish being churned out over and over again. What a golden oppurtunity missed to have some kind of channel showing archive material that hasn't been shown in years.

Many of those ITC film series run on ITV3/4.

True but what you're seeing there is a first showing of Joe 90 and a second showing of The Forsyte Saga before it disappeared into the archives and it was on to something else.
I hate the way classic series such as Upstairs Downstairs and Rising Damp are treated on ITV3. It has cheapened them.

I agree i know ITV 3/4 show a few things like The Saint and The Proffesionals etc , but i'm afraid that's no where near good enough . They seem to show the same episodes over and over again , and i'm also not in favour of showing for example The Saint 5 days a week , why can't they show it 1 day a week , and something different on each of the other days like they use to do. There is definitely a strong case for having a channel that shows archive material that hasn't been shown in years.

Thanks guys... I have emailed Chris Perry via Kaleidoscope and have also sent him a private PM message via this site.. I have also had a message back from Charles Norton saying that Kaleidoscope would like my audio copy of the show for their archives, but this still doesn't help me in tracking down the footage. Just to let you all know that the 1966-69 episodes of "Sunday Night At The London Palladium" were actually called "THE LONDON PALLADIUM SHOW", so they changed the title slightly in the sixties, which I was not aware of? Here is a fragment of a typical show from 1966 featuring Tom Jones and Kate Smith. It shows you the intro music. Oddly enough it has an NBC logo at the beginning? So was the "London Palladium Show" sold abroad?? www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAmsJ2As7Ug

The 1966 clip with Tom Jones will be from an officially missing edition!
The show was re-formatted in Autumn 1965 and became "The New London Palladium Show" which was when Jimmy Tarbuck became host. The titles were changed too although the overall style was pretty much the same as before. This didn't last long though and the "new" was dropped from the name and it became "The London Palladium Show" for the rest of it's life (which was increasingly sporadic from 1967 onwards).
