Let's hope:

Also for Mary Hopkins fans a Discs a go go? from HTW West based in Cardiff has been found. All in Welsh.

Doesn't Mr. Dave Clark's estate own the rights to any RSG? If so maybe they will have to be handed over...

Great to hear something has been found. Rumours of Dave Clark's demise are greatly exaggerated. I'm not sure who actually owns the rights to RSG.

I had similarly thought that Dave Clark owned the rights to RSG? Anyone know, with any degree of certainty as to whom the rights lie with at present?
This is absolutely fantastic news, ( minus the 8mm off-set YouTube "RSG" clip reel I found a while back now ) has been some time for any "RSG" recoveries. Of course, given that these are not existing editions as has been stated previously. Fingers Crossed for hopefully two editions of "Ready Steady Go" and an welsh edition of "Discs A Go Go" !!
Thank You Kevin for the alert here!! Looking forward to hearing how this matter progresses in regards.
Cheers, Lance.

Personally I'm hoping that it's a late edition, maybe the one with Jimi Hendrix and Marc Bolan for me that would be the find of the century!!!

Very interesting news indeed! Do you have more info on rough period it comes from / contents / tape format etc? I'm assuming it's on film in some form as you say reels plural. Any idea where it turned up?

Regarding RSG, Dick Fiddy said that it is two reels of 16mm telerecording film apparently from the same episode.
It has been kept for many years by an elderly lady who is quite ill at the moment.
As yet, it has not been taken in or viewed by the BFI, and the BFI are proceeding slowly due to her current medical condition.
As the film has not been seen yet, it remains to be confirmed that it is indeed an edition of RSG, and also whether it is a missing one and not a duplicate of one of the dozen or so which survive.
Regarding Discs a Gogo, this is one surviving episode of the Welsh version, produced by TWW in the mid-sixties. It has a slightly different name, which I can't remember right now. Mary Hopkin sings on it in Welsh.
According to Dick, the BFI do have this edition, but it does not seem to appear on the BFI database. Hopefully it will be on the new BFI database which will be in service soon.
So, this brings to total to two surviving editions of TWW's Discs a Gogo, which is very good news.

I'm surprised that Dick Fiddy made this announcement given that it hasnt been seen or viewed. If anybody else made this sort of announcement under these circumstances it would be greeted with a great deal of sceptiscm. Who knows, the old lady maybe confused and have 2 reals of Coronation Street for all we know. Surely its best to announce this sort of things once they have been viewed and recovered.

I must say I agree somewhat with Rich's comments. Although I haven't spoken to him in many years, I am suprised Dick would make any announcement of this sort without some confirmation of the substance of the find (unless more is known, but can't be divulged?).

This will be great news if it turns out to be true, i was beginning to think it had gone a bit quite recently on finding pop music footage so personally as long as it's a missing episode i don't mind which one it is but if i had to choose one it would be one of the later editions from 66 rather than the earlier ones but not to fussed.

To be fair, Dick did make it quite clear that it was unconfirmed and that it may be an edition that already exists, or even something else entirely.

I thought it would be something along those lines. I can't attend these events due to health reasons and was only going on the info on posts on here.

The Discs A Go Go find is exciting in itself - presumably it features Mary Hopkin?
Let's hope the RSG "find" turns out to be something and we get the chance to see it at MBW.
