Well, I am for starters, and so, it would seem, is Gareth R. Who else will be there and how will we recognise each other?

What's being shown at it this year? Does anyone know what all has been recovered this year? I know the Doctor Who episode, the Out of the Unknown episode, a couple of Z Cars, No Hiding Place and Boyd Q C.

I have a spare ticket going for both shows - I'm going and I was TEXTgoingTEXT to bring my girlfriend along, but she now has a training day on Saturday and so can't join me.
Anyone who hasn't bought a ticket and doesn't mind sitting next to me is welcome to use the tickets. I can't be bothered trying to explain to the Box Office that I want to cancel 1 out of 2 tickets for 2 shows...
e-Mail me on markboulton_london@hotmail.com if you're interested.
Regards, M

She says she has a training day I bought 2 tickets for me and the missus but she bailed out. In fact, she's gone to visit her parents to get away from me and my archive fetish for the weekend. I think I've managed to interest a friend in joining me, but am waiting for confirmation. So, I might have a short-notice spare coming up. Is it sold out, then?

For most girlfriends you could possibly expect that they would want to find something "better" to do. I'm fortunate in that she enjoys old British TV just as much as I do - even though she grew up in Jamaica. She doesn't mind watching my Hancock, Dad's Army and Doctor Who DVDs, and was actually quite interested for me to explain about how much of this stuff had to be recovered in long, convoluted ways. She even likes 50s and 60s music, aswell as current stuff, so I'm happy to say she's got a very catholic taste. I can imagine that's not the case for everybody though

For most girlfriends you could possibly expect that they would want to find something "better" to do. Many New Year's Eves ago, when I was with the girlfriend before my wife, some friends and I watched the closing of Southern in real time, back timing the tape so that midnight in 1981/2 came at midnight on this particular evening. At midnight and 2 nanoseconds, she piped up and said " Can we have BBC1 on now?". Jamaica watch old British TV or does she do it of her own accord? Sorry. Couldn't resist it. Good for you. My wife is selective - she won't watch everything I want to, but she's pretty good. A friend gave me an old Opnox recently and throughout, Mrs B kept making retching noises whenever Hughie Green appeared. TO be honest, I was thinking the same thing, but I had to watch for the sake of research. Well, no. I think it was the length of MBW that put her off. It's one thing to watch several hours of archive TV in your own front room with a ready supply of tea and biscuits, and a dog to stroke, but quite another to sit in a cinema doing it.
