Thank you in advance Graham.
Speaking as a ""Plastic Jock"" (not my words, but....I suppose it's appropriate....I prefer 'ex-Scots domicile'....) I am delighted with this!
Have found a bar that sells it here - last night!
Wave at Gretna on your way down (and Carlisle) from me.

Looking forward to meeting some of you chaps who frequent this website tomorrow.
It's a shame they don't do name badges as you arrive as it would make it that much easier to identify people.

Good point Richard, there are quite a few people I have swapped comments with on Here and Mause club I would like to chat to and its difficult to approach asking "You aren't so and so are you"
I might make my own notice board "where's Ray" etc..

I shall be there too. We could do with a photo gallery for identification. I'm sure many of us have been in the same room before at places like the NFT without even knowing. I know both Laurence and I were at the screening of the recovered evening of ATV back way back in 1995. So you at least know me, here's a picture. goo.gl/bHCRm Feel free to add yours too, as I'd love to meet you, but don't be offended if I don't recognise you

Hoping everyone has a fun time at the event tomorrow.Am hoping one of these days I can make the trip over and attend a event!!Would be great to finally meet in person here!
Also,am deeply saddened will be unable to see the past recovered Pink Floyd-TOTP material. As well as the Discs A Go Go "Am a big Keith West and Tomorrow fan",and never thought would ever see an edition of this show recovered!Would very much appreciate it here if someone might possibly be able to elaborate further after seeing this item after the event tomorrow? Just sad cannot see this material, and would at least be nice to hear from those who saw it here.If not, understand.Just thought I would ask.
Thanks again to all the people and guests who make these events truely happen.Thier unending work and call to detail is as always to be highly commended in regards.
Have fun everyone!!Wish I could be there with ya all!!!
Cheers,Lance.

I just want to say thanks to the Kal team for putting on another first rate event yesterday. Plenty of obscure pop material on offer and the only drawback was having to miss something in one room while watching an item in the other! The turnout seemed to be very good and I hope plenty of money was raised. Highlights were the Discs A Go Go edition with Tomorrow (is this their only existing TV appearance?) and The Symbols plus the Time For Blackburn programme, both of which gave a real flavour of the pop scene at that time. The live guests and DJ panel were very enjoyable too, as were the personal appearances by Junior Campbell and surprise guest Brian Locking from The Shadows.
Although i'd already seen some of those recovered 1967 TOTP clips at the NFT last year, I was more than happy to see them again; it's such a huge tragedy that they only exist in such terrible quality (I almost felt like a masochist sitting through them at times!) but they paint a picture of TOTP as a very exciting programme in 1967, definitely not as received wisdom says of it being simply acts miming their hits in a dull fasion! There was a party atmosphere in the studio and (apart from the See Emily Play clip, which is a revelation), my favourite bit was Procol Harum complete with very live vocal and an obviously out-of-it Gary Brooker forgetting the lyrics to Whiter Shade Of Pale and at one point improvising the line "I don't know what is happenin', my mind is blown"! It was also great to see The Turtles, Dave Davies and The Alan Price Set.
It was also good to put faces to a few people whose names I know well on here, such as Ray and Simon. I look forward to further strong events like this in future.

Maybe next time we should all wear name badges!!
Great day, great footage - a splendid time was guaranteed for all! Loved the 1967 TOTP (and I'm sure something could eventually be 'done' with it given time & patience) and even the 1976 TOTP was quite strong (give or take Guys'n'Dolls & those terrible Suprise Sisters!). Loved the suprise clips of Tina Charles from 5/3/76 and especially Herman's Hermits from 5/3/70 - I cannot get enough of 'groovy' TOTP 1970-stylee, and despite the corny "oompah" of Years May Come, it was good to see some 'late' Hermits in colour (and Keith Hopwood seeing in the new decade with the "Shoestring" look!). Discs-A-Go-Go was great, as was "Time For Blackburn" - great to see new performances of Magic Bus (Keith Moon on fine form!) and even The Red Balloon (Dave Clark sat on a stool crooning for the verses, I kid ye not!) - does anymore exist of this show as it seems to be genuine ITV "TOTP" for the time. The guests were all superb - Junior Campbell, Brian Locking, Mike Read, David Hamilton, Ed Stewart (I had to shuffle my car in the car park to give him a space) and an enthusiastic Pete Murray. The dj's in particular were very approachable and fielding autographs and questions for a long time after the "panel".

I'm afraid work commitments prevented me from attending. It sounds like Kal have delivered another outstanding event. I just hope that the 'Discs A Go Go' footage becomes more widely available. It would be great to see actual footage of the Symbols and Tomorrow. Both outstanding bands of their era.

I thought I'd just drop by and add my thanks too. It was a great day. I apologise if I managed to blank anyone who I know online who was at the event, but I agree, name badges would be good for the next event. I managed to meet quite a few folks from the forums. As has already been mentioned, excellent guests, David Hamilton was the perfect host. I thought William 'Junior' Campbell was very interesting; I'm glad that Marmalade hate Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da as much as I do! The real highlight for me was getting to see the TOTP clips from 67. A brief glimpse or two of the lovely Samantha Juste and as Laurence pointed out, a wonderful opportunity to see just how lively the show used to be. Lots of people turned up at the event and I hope that's reflected in the collection for the RNLI. If you still haven't managed to get to one of these events, do so, because you'll miss them when they're gone. P.S, did anyone catch exactly what Dave Davies shouted to Fluff when he got his name wrong and called him Ray? Fluff's lucky that Dave didn't smack him one!

My thanks also to KAL for putting on such an enjoyable event.
Good to see some people there who I had never met before and frustrated there were many other people I would like to have said hello to but didn't know who was who. Name badges would be a welcome addition next year.
Loved the performance by The Symbols doing "The Best Part of Breaking Up" on TWW which I had never heard before and have just downloaded from Amazon.
Whilst at the event I had a chat with a chap from KAL and asked him if they would ever consider showing the only surviving edition of TOTP from October 1973 hosted by Kenny Everett and that as it was a "studio" version it would probably never see the light of day on BBC again.
I also asked about showing the "Don't Make my Baby Blue" clip.
He said that a lot depends on what new found material turns up over the next 12 months and if anything does then this would take priority over anything else but said he would take a look into it.
I did also mention to him that in last years KAL event the Pans People clip of The Detroit Spinners "Ghetto Child" was shown which comes from the said Kenny Everett hosted edition which means KAL must have had this edition in their possession when putting the PP sequence together for last years event.

Well it was a great event to meet people from both BBC Top Of The Pops all from 60s-80s & a few faces from ATV/Central all in one building, That very rarely happens but above all was a brilliant day & really enjoyed it..

Yes have to echo those comments great event as always, wasn't sure anything could match the unveiling of the '67 footage at last year's MBW or the Lulu and Dick Emery tapes uncovered at last year's kal event .. jewel in the crown for me though was the herman's hermits footage, picture perfect totp from 1970 discovered only the previous day! .. guests were a joy once again including a surprise appearance of the shadows' brian 'licorice' locking who seemed genuinely overwhelmed by the respect and admiration he desevedly received

Sounds as if was a great event, all in all.A job well done to all involved here.Sounds as if name badges may be a wise idea for the next event possibly? As sounding,as if would make for recognizing familiar-net faces a bit more simplistic as far as that is concerned there.I bet we would have a lot to talk about Ray,as sounds as if have a lot in common in regards to talking at length. As far as am currently aware,is the only surviving TV footage of the Symbols am currently aware of.A member here (?) had talked to a past member of the band, who had similarly asked as to whether footage existed from this group on period TV?Was then able to state of the Discs-A -Go-Go edition which had been recovered. What a great moment that must have been there.Great to hear footage from the Lulu and Dick Emery tapes were shown at this event,am still admittedly chomping at the bit in wanting to see the recovered Queen-Killer Queen Emery Tape footage ( aware is not the full performance there sadly).Sounds as if the guest panel was on top form as well.Very saddened again am on the other side of the world,as would love to attend one of these events one of these days. Thanks again everyone for sharing these anecdotes here on the forum from the event. Are greatly appreciated indeed here in regards.
Cheers,Lance.
