I'm pleased to report that I have bought a second colour 1970s episode of ATV Star Soccer on ebay, and it is on it's way to Kaleidoscope to join the first one which I bought from ebay last year.
Both episodes are potentially missing (the Star Soccer surviving editions are not properly catalogued, so it's hard to tell precisely).
Both are 16mm colour telerecordings. I believe ITC marketed them abroad, which is why a few of them are floating about on film.

This latest one is a 1979 England Scotland game, possibly edited down for Star Soccer. It has the full ATV Star Soccer titles and on-screen graphics, which only existed on the first colour print in abbreviated form.
It was filmed by ATV cameras, because you can see a side shot of one at the match start. The match footage probably exists at ITV, but possibly not this local ATV presentation material.
The first one was a fully local edition, tx 17/4/77, West Brom vs Man City.
I'm not into football at all, I might add!

A black and white 1968 edition of `Star Soccer' on 16mm went for £156 on ebay recently. The featured match was Man Utd v Stoke.

This is most interesting and segues into the debate noted elsewhere [The dedicated ITV highlights website] as ITN source recently have included about 11 years worth of 'Star Soccer's from about 1967-1978 as being on their catalogue. These are alledgedly ITC export copies. Which begs the question, inn the view of the members here, how accurate is the ITN source site, in terms of material existing not just logged?

The NFTVA hold the following - donated by ITC who didn't want it anymore. Asterisks indicate its held on videotape - but I don't know whether this is footage on film transferred to VT or actual VT itself.
Star Soccer holdings - asterisked titles are on tape. It has taken a while as there are some inconsistencies in titling, there may be some more but this should give you some idea.

Thanks for your responses. The Granada material sounds interesting. Granada covered a lot of county cricket in the 1960's as did the BBC however, unlike the latter's Test Cricket coverage very little county footage apparently remains from that time.
