well its been over a month since we have heard anything more about Johns collection. I wonder how many of his tapes have now been played and cataloged? Also will we get to find out whats on the tapes in a posting on this forum? I still speak to John regularly, and there's no chance the tapes will go awry. They are safe and well and preserved and I'm sure if anything happens, it'll go public when it can go public! Just curious. Does anyone know if the collection has been fully catalogued yet? Any news?

It's probably in a skip outside bbc television centre! They are safe and in storage. And John holds them, not the BBC. Just so you know.

When the Bowie find was made there was mention that Chris Perry would be visiting John to check out the full extent of his archive - even talk of him appearing at Kaleidoscope's June event. But I was surprised when Chris made no mention of this in the recent thread about suggestions for clips to be shown then.

Chris and John are in contact and that's all I know. I'm sure if anything happens you'll hear about it here!

Updates....John, as you know appeared at Kal's event in June and was a brilliant speaker, and also in addition to the Bowie clip some other footage (Junkin and the Sound of Petula) was shown.
As of yesterday myself and Gary Jordan have both uncovered a picture disc that has the TOTP recording of Jean Genie on the B-side. John did not know about this. I have phoned EMI to ask if it legit, and I am awaiting more info....

Are you certain that it's the BBC version? I have seen a legit pic disc of the normal version backed with a 'sax' version that was issued on a run of the "ChangesOneBowie" album by accident...

That's what the blurb says on two 'record shop' sites with a new catalogue number and a prospective release date of 19/11/2012. Like I said, no idea if it's legit. Yet.
