Does the Kinks appearance survive on audio?

To save you wading, the bootleg with the PP Kinks audio is Kollectable Kinks Kontraband, the revised edition.
This is the first I’ve heard of the audio of the Kinks appearance existing. I’d always assumed they were just mimes to the records but are they live or alternate versions? Is the source of the audio on the bootleg an off-air from the US showing?

I've no idea - I found this today. We need a copy!

I imagine it's mimed.
Dave apparantly appeared in a small skit with M and W. A bit of nice buffonery no doubt. Maybe like the skit (audio) of the Clay Cole show that you can get on Youtube.

I'd be surprised, as other surviving footage is live (& anyway, weren't there "no miming" union rules on UK TV at the time?).

That would be great if it were live. No surprise on the song choice. Despite a US ban Well Respected Man was a hit. Plus the US audience probably did not realise Ray wrote Dandy, a big hit fot Herman and the boys.

Haha, must admit I love 'em, but maybe you'll prefer Manfred Mann's version?

From a suggestion, I've emailed Disney just to see if they do have anything of the show in the archives.
I'm not expecting anything, but....I will report here.

Ray With the BFI acquiring the remains of the ATV VTR library a couple of years ago..here is a thought Ray maybe they would let you in? ..not to get in their way LOL, but just to get a listing of what they have, they have been trickle releasing stuff over the past years which were previously thought lost but a definitive list might speed up the process.

I can't see that happening in a decade of Sundays! Nice thought, though. (if anyone at the BFI is reading this - industry people do, you know....), I'm available!)
