Probably five of my most wanted would be:
Mr. Rose Z-Cars Spyders Web The Gold Robbers Armchair Theatre (ABC episodes)
A lot of others too but these I particularly want to see again!
If I stretched it to 10 (a more manageable figure), i'd have to include Out Of The Unknown, The Strange World Of Gurney Slade, The Wednesday Play, The Tyrant King and Doomwatch.

Ah, yes, I imagine the top five for DVD was for things that existed. The Road and season 5 Troughton (for instance) don't - although i'd love to see them again myself too!

Hard to make a choice of just five but here goes. Not in any order though.
OUT OF THE UNKNOWN TOP OF THE POPS Z CARS SO IT GOES TILL DEATH US DO PART (black and white)
Quite a lot of my ITV wants have been put out by Network but a lot of BBC series are still waiting to be released. The Wednesday Play and Play For Today are obvious ones, so are Doomwatch, That Was The Week That Was, It's A Square World. Others ones I would like to see from ITV are The Human Jungle, Corridor People, Undermind and so on.

I should have rubbed my eyes a bit more before posting Existing stuff for DVD release, They came from somewhere else Out of the unknown This morning with richard not judy Z-cars and for number 5, completely off topic, but i'd love an official DVD release of an obscure and weird film called 'the tiger love', my VHS ex rental copy has pretty much given up the ghost....

I know lists of this kind turn up frequently but it's always worth posting a reply as you never know if anybody in an influential position might be reading.
Top of the list for me would be more pop TV. Most things from TOTP to the few remaining Colour Me Pop would be welcome. I'd agree that So It Goes deserves to be seen again.
Single play strands generally are notably absent from the multitude of DVD releases out there so they would be one of my priority wants. This would cover the original run of Armchair Theatre, Wednesday Play, Theatre 625, Play Of The Week, Saturday Night Theatre and many more. A set of the surviving Rediffusion Half Hour Story would be very well received by me (about 17 episodes at my reckoning, which is a good survival rate for a Rediffusion series). Even the seven remaining episodes of George Cole's almost forgotten (yet critically acclaimed at the time) A Man Of Our Times would be good to see. Other play strands such as ATV's Love Story, Crime Of Passion or LWT's The Frighteners may be easier to market as themed collections though. Anglia TV have retained most of their drama output right from the start so a few sets of their single plays would be most desirable to me. I'd also buy a full release of all the extant 1948 Show material (around seven episodes plus others incomplete bridged by the audios).
As most people are saying, there is far less BBC material available compared (thanks to Network and a couple of other niche companies) to ITV. Many of their core series remain unavailable such as the early Till Deaths, TW3, Play For Today, Doomwatch, Out Of The Unknown, Sortly Softly, Z-Cars.
So, in brief: Single plays of all kinds Pop TV of all kinds Key BBC series A full 1948 Show release A Man Of Our Times

Many of their core series remain unavailable such as the early Till Deaths, TW3, Play For Today, Doomwatch, Out Of The Unknown, Sortly Softly, Z-Cars. Absolutely... understatement of the year. Seems the BBC are keen to keep putting out DVD's of more recent shows (which seem to turn up in cut out bin type stores within a year or two) but when it comes to the archive... there is nowhere near as much as there should be. Maybe it is also asking too much but we certainly don't want a repeat of the "Grange Hill" debacle where the first four series were given a DVD release but with plenty of edits due to music clearance issues and worse, the video material being filmized... it looked awful. Interesting to see almost every poster here wanting to see "Z Cars." We know realistically, the BBC are unlikely to ever issue the entire lot, but given there is still obviously interest in it, why can't BBC4 have a weekly spot showing all that still exists? That way, we'd all get a chance to see them and those who saw them first time round would get that chance as well since it's original audience who have fond memories of it are not getting any younger.

Isn't it interesting? Z Cars is always popping up in most people's top lists of series they want to see again. ITV are very well catered for and most of their famous and not so famous series which still exist are now out and have been brought out at least once (Public Eye, The Prisoner, The Avengers Callan, Timeslip, The Sweeney, Budgie and all the rest). The BBC equivalents have nobody like Network to release them. All we have apart from the excellent Dr.Who and Quatermass sets are poor quality releases of Steptoe and Hancock and a few others.
As over 300 episodes of Z Cars exist, repeats would seem the best option of us all getting a chance to see them again. I don't see why we couldn't have dvd sets of selected episodes as well though. The BBC have some of the crown jewels in broadcasting (The Wednesday Play, Z Cars, Out of the Unknown and a lot of others) but mostly they aren't available, which is a tragedy.

..... and my top 5 of existing TV:- 1984 (1954/Peter Cushing) Quatermass 4 (John Mills) The Stone Tape (Nigel Neale) The Stranger (1960's Australian series) Paul of Tarsus (1960's BBC series with Patrick Troughton)
..... and my top 5 of part existing TV:- Long Way Home (part 2 is missing) Counterstrike (1969 BBC) Doomwatch The Goodies (the rest of what's left) Freewheelers (what's left of early series) ..... and my top 5 of totally non-existing TV:- Triton Pegasus The Monsters The Big Pull Take Three Girls
Like everyone else I pushed my luck to 15 but then this is only a piece of fun. I doubt if any of this will get released on DVD as others have already said.
