Yes replying to your comment Ray, i can well remember southern tvs Day by Day talking about and showing the promo "Fool on the Hill" was this promo filmed on the sussex downs ? I clearly remember it being shown on this programme.

Fool on the Hill was NOT filmed in the Sussex Downs. I can understand the confusion when looking at the film, but McCartney shot it (accompanied by one cameraman and a colleague) in the South of France. He talks about it in the Beatles Anthology. He described it as being very 'non-union'!!!!).
Allegedly, Mr McCartney (who does live in Sussex nowadays), forgot to take his passport with him when he went abroad!

If memory serves 'Wonderful Christmastime' and possibly one of the promo films on 'Back to the Egg' were shot in Sussex. And the TV-shown promo films of 'Hi Hi Hi' and 'C Moon' - bringing things back in a neat circle - were shot in the old Southern TV Studios in Northam, Southampton!
