I am a great fan of this series. As a teenager I thought this was the best thing on TV in the 1960s.
I have never seen an episode repeated by the BBC or appear on a VHS or a DVD.
It really (seriously) was a very good programme. Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for the research. It looks like most of my 'favourite' episodes (particularly "There's Always A Next Time" that was broadcast on 01.05.67) have been deleted or lost, but I would still love to see ANY of those that do remain.
I cannot see the BBC broadcasting any though, they have not done so for very many years now.
The only thing I can think of is to write to the BBC in London, but am not holding my breath for any results of that.
Before I do so - does anyone have any other thoughts/ideas?
Thanks.

If a repeat is likely, I'd suggest BBC Four, though i expect the surviving episodes are lying there waiting to be released on DVD and maybe if BBCFour have a season that the material can fit into they may consider broadcasting an episode. It had a few actors in it that are still alive (including Robert Hardy) so it might even benefit from a documentary!!! After all theyt've done them on other old shows recently so i can't see why the troubleshooters should be ignored.

I have very good childhood memories of this series. I would love to see a dvd release of all that's left. Come on BBC Worldwide, get yr fingers out! And what a great name for an oil company, it sounded (to me) SO up to date!

The Power Game (on ITV) and The Troubleshooters (BBC) were seen as rivals of a sort by some at the time. The industry they were both set in was the same (Oil Industry) and there was the BBC v ITV thing, as well.
I never really liked The Power Game, it seemed more of an American type show to me, by which I mean - more about the 'people' than the storyline. I have nothing intrinsically against American TV shows, simply the Troubleshooters personified what 'I personally' liked in a programme - lots about the characters, but without developing a HUGE (dominant) 'cult of personality' as seemed to happen with Patrick Wymark in the Power Game.
The Power Game has been both released on DVD and repeats have occasionally been shown on TV.
The Troubleshooters (very sadly) seem to have had neither, to date.

I wasn't trying to 'talk down' The Power Game Stephen . . . apologies if it read like that.
