They both looked like mock-ups to me! Composites of b/w t/r, VT and lots of (more modern) effects plastered on too! Someone with plenty of spare time on their hands.

No genuine colour there that I can see... all faked and I don't think they could had done the 4 images at the same time trick in 1970... Quantel was another 9 or 10 years away. Don't know why the YouTube poster wasted his time on it to be honest since clean colour titles can be found on the TOTP 40th anniversary DVD and by posting it, it's giving a misleading impression.

Kenny certainly was a Techno freak. He was experimenting with his own home made jingles as far back as 1965 on Radio London. I do a lot of trading radio shows with a lot of highly respected US Radio DJs, and they never cease to be AMAZED at some of the jingles that Ken produced throughout his career. He was years and years ahead of his time, goodness only knows what he would be doing today, with the technology available to him. Ive always said that Kenny was a very good TV Presenter, but he was a very, VERY good radio presenter. If ever a guy was made for the airwaves, it was King Kenny. Whenever I want cheering up, its easy for me, I just bang one of my many Kenny shows on. His Capital Radio days 73-77 with Dave Cash were his best, I feel. A true Genius !!

I'd heard of the show "James Paul McCartney" but never saw the series and had never heard of "One Hand Clapping" before now. Maybe one day both shows will be aired, the latter for the first time (if they still exist in the archives). This is a very interesting read. Yes, they're both held in the MPL archives....If they come out officially or not is a different matter

Who presented the following editions of Top of the Pops?:
07/10/64 – There’s conflicting information on The Supremes-Baby Love – The BBC lists the performance, without a presenter, as from this date as a insert, whilst World Charts lists it as from the 08/10/64 Pete Murray edition;
31/12/70 – World Charts says Jimmy Savile;
29/11/73
28/11/74 - Paul Burnett? or Dave Lee Travis?: I've seen conflicting information on who presented this edition;
09/01/75
08/06/78

If The Who footage mentioned in my other post is anything to go by, then this is true - a caption appears on screen stating that tthis is The Who!29/11/73 - I have this down as a Noel Edmonds hosted show - it seems there was a cycle between Edmonds, Savile, DLT and Blackburn around this time.28/11/74 - Paul Burnett? or Dave Lee Travis?: I've seen conflicting information on who presented this edition; - I have Paul Burnett on my list, although other sources have DLT and a 27-11-74 transmission date?!09/01/75 - I have Tony Blackburn down as host here08/06/78 - Noel EdmondsRegards Mark

Hi everyone, I'm a new member and wondered if anyone can explain why the totp database on their site is no longer active. I have contacted the BBC on several occasions about the error that appears, but it hasn't returned. I think it's a total disgrace if they have 'wiped' that too!

There was a kefuffle a few years back about the Beeb spending money on websites. So they axed a load of them much to the chagrin of all here!
