Would be great to know some more details, especially asking Mr. King why / how his family member obtained such a collection, before passing this off as a hoax. If it is a hoax, it's unusual to see it mention more than just Doctor Who material.

If Paul (who is also a moderator on this forum!) has made contact with the person, I just hope that people will let him get on with it!

What's yout take on this Richard? A prank? Maybe it is a late April Fools seeing as this story started early April 2? Well if Paul's on the job already it shouldn't be a longlasting hoax

That link brings up a 404 not found notice on TV.com. I guess that's that then.

You have to copy and paste the whole link, as the hyperlink was cut off. I agree with Richard on this one, to sit back and see what can be found, as am sure if there is any truth to this story then these chaps will be the first to follow up and authenticate.Am sure that they will post anything which has been genuinely discovered. Until then. Best of luck to you chaps, and to Paul, fingers crossed.
Cheers, Lance.

well its been 8 days since mr king has posted to the thred he started so, well, that your lot then.. some interesting points about his comments. at one point i think his 2nd posting he refer's to them as "videos" He mentions dad's army which many redundant TR's could exist but also talks about a another show called "studio E" anyone have a clue on`this? * If this was true there would be photo's ( he himself said there would be on the 8th) lets see.. ok here we go guys.. what we need to see is his posts.. and here they are : 1 "I believe that I have gained a few missing episodes from a family member who passed away a few weeks ago. I looked up some of their names of the episodes which are in these tin cans things on this website www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A683877 and some of the names do match up like Galaxy Four and Tenth Planet. I haven't check them all but there are a few hundred tapes here. Do anyone know who I should be contacting to check if these are real" no 2 " Thanks bill. I will submit has much info I have about the tapes tomorrow so I can take pictures of the room where they are being kept." No 3 "ok? I have filled in the form after checking most what I gained with a few friends. Most of it were Dad's Army and Studio E but there was few Doctor Who tapes. I just waiting for them to get back to me" no 4 "I don't really want to keep them mainly because they are going to take up too much room and plus I can't really watch them. I have already e-mailed the BBC about them. Hopefully they willgie me one or two Doctor Who DVDs " no 5 "On most of them it says the name of the show, episode name and productor's name however on some the labels have been replaced." and then there is some talking with Paul Vanezis getting email adresses sorted etc.. the funny this is after his post No. 1 he got a plethora of replys telling him how much the films would be worth to the bbc.. in fact it made me quite sad at the babblings of the fanboys about the monetery value .. if this did exist he may now keep em for a few more years thankls to you.. fans.. and how much these piss poor shows mean to you.. remember the 1st rule of contact.. refer them to the beeb or restoration team ( or as i call em the too much "audio" restoration team, mark there is a limit to how much NR is NEEDED) but alas . the vast majority told him of the riches the beeb would make out of HIS find.. and how he would get squat.. oh well..

Hmm, he has posted a lot on that site for an obvious hoaxer.
Not saying he's legit, but perhaps not worth dismissing out of hand.

Well, if DWO comes up with a report saying that episode 6 of that story has been recovered, then we'll already know that it is another mistake on their part.
