Hello all.
After several months of background research by myself and others, there is now progress in establishing whether there are any BBC tv programmes in the archives of certain specific African stations.
I'm afraid though that I can't reveal more information than that at this stage, nor which countries are involved, but communication lines are now established and an exchange of information taking place.
As soon as any new information appears I'll let you know.
Cheers,
Paul

Thanks for the update. Months back, Richard Bignell said the matter was in hand, which set my mind at rest. Probably won't stop all the heated debate - and howls of frustration - on certain other forums, but I'm happy.

Hey Paul,
That is good news about the update on the Afdrica research prospects. I am also glad this possibility is serriously being looked at. Good work there, and many thanks for keeping us updated on this research that is taking place.

Excellent news! I really hope something comes out of this, if not for Who then for some other lost TV show, although I'm holding out for Web of Fear....

Good luck in deepest darkest Africa. Remember the song Africa Toto? I could never get the lyrics right: "I wore some shades down in Africa" "I lifted weights down in Africa" Nah that wasn't it. Now you'll be able to sing: "I checked some reels down in Africa."
BONZA!

Yes, the very best of luck. It would be wonderful to have something back and a chance to revisit something that we all have a perception of but most of us have not seen. I remember how excited I was when i went to a viewing of DMP Ep 2 in 2004 not long after it returned knowing I was finally going to see a full episode with Katarina and the alien delegates. Great day, great feeling. Fingers crossed

Yep, DMP2 was some of the best Hartnell I had ever seen. It certainly lived up to any hype I had heard about the daleks masterplan. Oooooh for another buzz like that

DMP2 and the Lion are excellent episodes and give a taste of how good those missing episodes actually are......!

Lets hope its patrick Troughton episode this time. Or even better there is more than one episode and its a mixture of Troughton and Hartnell.

Yes it would be deeply awesome to get some new troughton to see, but dont forget if 20 episodes turn up they might all be ones we already have.. imagine the dissapointmont if the only thing to come back was tomb again? But,. personally I would be ecstatic if something yeti oriented rematerialised.
