Let me guess, is this another 16mm dupe that was struck in the 1980's ? I would still love to see it on the big screen.
Lance.

So were 16mm copies of this doing the rounds a bit in the 80s then? Yes. Someone who shall be nameless, "borrowed" some telerecordings from the archive and had his own 16mm and 8mm negatives made from them. Duplicate prints were then struck in both formats and then sold around. As well as this episode, others duplicated in this way were The Chase #6, The Web of Fear #1, The Wheel in Space #3 and The Invasion #6. There may have been others too. Richard

More prints are better than less. Its only a shame the episodes were 'borrowed' in the 80's when they could have been saved and kept in the 70's...

when did the beeb stamp on this sort of thing? From Richard's post, I got the impression that it was just a one-off occurance during the eighties, but I may have misunderstood. It would be nice to entertain the possibility that someone might have "borrowed" some now lost episodes prior to the eighties and had some copies made, but I personally doubt it.
