The web of fear complete by the way. It is? Funny, this is the first that I've heard of it. No... he was saying what he would *choose* to turn up...

It is things like this that start rumors about missing episodes. Although, that disney material unearthed in Kong Kong sheds hope for other missing programes. It does seem rather odd, that Hong Kong and Asia in general recived Doctor Who episodes from BBC Enterprises in the 70's. What happened to all of those film prints? Could Asia TV have any uncatalogued material in thier vaults? If anyone has any answers, leave a response.
Thanks, Lance.

Well, remember "The Tomb of the Cybermen" was returned from a Hong Kong broadcaster so you never know...
However, I would postulate that this case is probably more the exception rather than the rule. The usual practice for TV broadcasters was to either RETURN or DESTROY the material obtained once all screening and/or repeat rights had expired. This was done in keeping with their contractual obligations.

It gets more and more tenuous every day! Anyway, if one missing episode turned up in the next few days, I'd like it to be the episode of Broaden Your Mind with Bill Oddie singing The One-Man Band.

I can never understand why people say they'd have The Tenth Planet Part 4 when the regeneration sequence exists and the story itself is not that interesting well not to me anyway. I prefer to go for interesting episodes. It is the first Doctor's farewell. Hearing Roy Skelton, one of the Cybermen voices, interviewed on 'Cybermen - The Early Years' it sounds interesting for that reason at least.

and as I said, it completes a story, giving us one more for DVD release and broadcast.

I think I'd go with The Tenth Planet 4, for the obvious reasons - first Cybermen story complete, only complete Season 4 story, complete stories are more appreciated than odd episodes generally, last Hartnell story, first regeneration, first appearance of Pat Troughton, another complete Ben and Polly story etc. Oh, and it's not a bad episode, of course...
I would much rather have The Feast of Steven though, but I don't think anyone would forgive me if I chose that over The Tenth Planet 4!

Mine would be Assasin at Peking - the only Who episode that I have never seen.

I put the names of all the missing episodes into a hat, and the episode chosen was "Gerald".
Which is odd, as I don't recall a missing episode called "Gerald".

Evil Of The Daleks #7. No contest. I'll have that one back, please.
I will also settle for The Invasion #4.
And it goes without saying that having Ambassadors Of Death in full colour would make my year. God, I love thst story.

For me it would be an episode of a story that little to no material exists for it. Such as an episode from "Marco Polo" or "The Massacre", either of those woule be welcome.

Rather than episodes there are two full stories I'd love to see discovered. One is "Marco Polo" since in my youth I happened to see the story three times as I traveled from Britain to Canada, first seeing it aired on the BBC, then the CBC in Halifax NS a few months later, then in 1966 in London Ontario. I developed a huge crush on the "Asian Girl" (Ping Cho) and still remember the tardis on a donkey cart and the fake paper crumbs snow., and the map. Number two would be "Galaxy Four" since it's a cute story (apparently) and it is so frustrating that it was to have been one of the last Who stories destroyed, even after efforts had been made to preserve the balance of the BBC archives.

You are extremely lucky then, to see a story that is now completely missing. And three times no less. It is a shame about Galaxy 4, it came soo close to being saved. It would be cool to see the Rills, as I have only seen a few photos of them ( And of course the start of Mission To The Unknown on the end of Exploding Planet ).
