That's one of the dupe copies made in the '80s. I have no idea where he got the idea that it was Amercian though -- someone in the UK did this...
Also unclear why he would only have a 1-day auction. Seems like he'd get more for it if he listed it for a week...

My suspicion is that the original auction may have been pulled and that he's put it back up as a one day auction so that he can sell the film before the BBC can get back onto him. Richard

Just out of curriosity, has anyone from the BBC contacted him yet ? You can contact sellers after the auction has ended as well. Just a thought.
Lance.

Why would anyone from the BBC contact the seller, other than to tell him that his auction is being closed down!

I was wondering about whether the BBC would stop a Super 8 auction since that's clearly not a legitimate copy of the film (all of the legitimate prints would be 16mm)... I suspected that that might be his reasoning - hoping that they wouldn't see it and stop it ...

So,how many episodes were struck up in Super-8 and 16mm,and for that matter, what's the story behind these?

I thought copies were illegally made of some episodes and distributed back in the 80's. So, I never heard how this auction turned out. Did the auction close naturally, or did ebay and the BBC intervene ? I was just currious.
Thanks, Lance.

Are there any other examples of 8mm copies? Certainly The Chase #6, The Evil of the Daleks #2, The Web of Fear #1, The Wheel in Space #3 and The Invasion #6. Richard

interesting, and we can be sure these are reduced copies of the 16mm/35mm we know of and not of bbc origin(non official obviously)?
