Not entierly true Steven. There is as I am aware from a posting from a reliable source associated with the BBC posted many years ago on this forum, so I have no reason to doubt it, there has been known evidence of a group of about 3 collectors who were deliberatly hoarding a missing episode from a programme. I can't remember too many details but it may have been an adam adament or could have been a Benny Hill. Proof it can happen, although you are right in saying that there is no known evidence that Doctor who episodes are being hoarded. Although it would be a very small minority hoarding stuff, not every collector like some fans think. Hi Stephen -- There might be one or two isolated cases, but my point is that there's no vast conspiracy of collectors to prevent the rest of the world from seeing missing material... I quite agree with you Steven that their is no mass conspiracy, isolated cases or not, the fact is hoarding has happened in the past, so it could be possible, however small that there could be an odd collector out there deliberatly hoarding an episode. I don't think some fans have helped in the past with mass conspiracy claims regarding collectors hoarding material. Also I personally belive that a hoarder has Masterplan 4, although there has been many therioes regarding this episode over the years, none of the exlanations really satisfiy me, I can only think of two possiblities that fit the evidence. Destroyed by Human Error or Stolen. I can't imagine it being sent to the wrong department after its use for Blue Peter and thus erased. There would be some paperwork to say it would have wiped which was the standard practice, also The Film libary contacted Blue Peter to enquire the wearaboust of the episode, if it had been sent to a wrong department someone must have known, even the person wiping it. As I am aware nobody knew what had happened to it which suggests to me it was stolen. Regards

He was about to search his collection for me when he got busted by the Canadian officials, and persecuted for possessing pirated video material, and his entire collection was held by the government. I was wondering if it could be possible to contact the government ? I'm a little stunned by your naivety Lance. If your Canadian Who fan had his collection raided under piracy laws do you really think that someone is likely to want to pursue and succeed in getting the very same Canadian Government who passed those piracy laws to return some higher quality Pertwee material? Said Government has a few bigger fish to fry than having to deal with the bleatings of obsessed fans poking their noses into their business. Worth a try admittedly but it won't be me....have a go Lance as I admire your optimism, these are international issues after all. Quite right about the fan bit, but I would have thought ifd the BBC contacted the Canadian government they might look at the situation with a different light, after all the BBC own the copyright, it is their property. PS: I would have thought the BBC would be aware of the material anyway, it is their copyright that has been infringed and a reprsenative might have to attend any legal proceedings onb behalf of the BBC. Also I woulden't bet on the BBC wanting to sue the individual as well.

Regards Hi Stephen I'm not aware of any hoarding in the past -- I believe that it took a bit of negotiation to get back Evil (2) and Faceless Ones (3) , and there was someone who once claimed to have an A For Andromeda episode -- but neither of these situations could really be considered hoarding -- can you think of any specific cases? As for DMP (4) - I think it's most likely that it got destroyed.

You're talking about a 16mm film print. A film print can't be wiped. And you wonder why people don't take you seriously.

Like I said earlier, I read about it many years earlier on this forum about a group of collectors hoarding an episode of a lost programme, although I belive it was recovered in the end. It may be a load of tosh, but concidering it was posted by someone associated with the BBC, I consider it reliable. As for DMP 4, my personal opion is that it was taken, I have already stated the reasons why I think this. We seem to be going to the avenue of " No opions allowed" avenue again. Very sad!. If we can't discuss anything with users of this forum expressing their point of views without someone flying into a strop over a post, then there is no point in discussing it. Regards

The only one I can see getting in a strop is you, Stephen. Or is your definition of a strop someone who challenges your rather flawed logic and flaky knowledge on a subject you say you know so much about?

The term "Missing Colour Perwtwee's" indicates that something belonging to Colour Pertwee (a relative of John or Bill?) is missing. The correct title should be "Missing Colour Pertwees" without the apostrophe which states possession. Or to put it simply...didn't anybody on here pass sub A grammar?

Using incorrect terminology makes it look as if you don't know what you're talking about.

You know, Robbie, I've read some of your posts on here and on other forums and you really are Mr Charm Personified aren't you? You may disagree with someone's view but there's really no excuse for a total lack of manners and courtesy towards other posters.
