when the BW episodes were shown on comercal tv in the 60s and 70s what idents were used during the comercial breaks, did the bbc supply one or did each company use their own?

That would have been left to the foreign broadcasters - I don't think there's any evidence the BBC supplied any captions.

Sorry, I haven't a clue! One for our foreign correspondents...? I don't know about in the 1960s, but TVNZ definitely used its own idents for screenings in the 1970s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s. Jon Preddle
