Hello Again,
On a trip to Seattle recently I purchased a mint condition Bell and Howell 16mm film projector. Being a fan of vintage Who I am looking around to see where I might be able to purchase an episode on 16mm film for home viewing? Does anyone know where I might find an episode for sale? Or are the chances of buying an episode on film basically nonexistent? If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,Lance.

16mm Dr. Who episodes are very very rare. They turn up from time to time on ebay, but you have to keep a sharp lookout and you have to be prepared to pay a lot for them...

16mm Dr. Who episodes are very very rare. Well, they're not common, but I wouldn't call them "very very rare" either. At least six different episodes have turned up on eBay over the past couple of years, but as has been said, they do tend to get a bit pricey on public auction sites. Richard

I think it depends on how you define rare...
Most of the episodes that turned up on ebay were either a) the more common "dupes" that are floating around of the episodes that were "borrowed" from the BBC in the 1980s or b) From no more than a few sources. Most of them from only 2 sources.
I'm not sure how many copies of the duped episodes exist, but I would guess that setting those aside there are probably no more than 1 or 2 copies of any given episode out in private hands (if that many).
From my perspective, that would indeed make them quite rare. Compare this to a show like MASH -- when the Bonded film warehouse was sold off to collectors in the late 80s / early 90s, I'm told there were over 7000 MASH prints that got distributed to collectors. That's about 25 copies of each episode -- big difference.

Nope... Not at the moment... Why didn't you buy them when you asked me a year ago? I had some then....

Shortly after you told me that you had episodes of who for sale my parrents demanded a car payment, so I had no choice but to fork over the money, sorry Steven. Do you think that you might get any more for sale in the near future?
Thanks,Lance.

I've seen the occasional episode for sale at 16mm film collectors message boards. Have you tried a Google search?

How much did the projector cost, Lance?

Wright :
The projector was free actually. An old friend of my father who worked as a teacher in the Seattle school district rescued the projector from a teacher who had no use for it anymore. And it had just been gathering dust in his bacement, so he decided to give it to me. It is in mint condition, with only 592 feet of film that it has screened, the bulb is in perfect order, and it runs like a charm. I only wish that I had an episode of who to watch on it.
Thanks,Lance.

The Model # says 1592 C . So does anyone have an idea of who or where I can find some Who on film ?
P.S. Is this a good projector ? And how much is it worth ?
Thanks,Lance.

Be patient, you must, young Jedi. The time will come when a Doctor Who film will surface on EBay, it will.
