I remember that rumour and I remember some people were passing it around as fact: "An episode of Marco Polo has been found in a cinema in Woking". I didn't realise that it had mutated into the Anthoy H rumour.

Well rumors tend to expand in various and strange ways. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone contacted the guy who posted the episodes of Marco Polo? Or is it another hoax, like the Knight of Jaffa ioffer hoax that I found? If any moderator or anyone else has any ideas or info on this subject, it would be appreciated.

As often happens with hoaxes, they go quiet and we never actually get confirmation that they're hoaxes (i.e. a confession). However, looking at it from another direction, we never actually had any proof that it wasn't a hoax and no one has ever been able to find evidence that the advert was placed. Furthermore, there are some connections to a known hoaxer, which all add up to disappointment.

Anthony H was the first to post it on a message board. But from various debates on it from various forums people had heard about it before Anthony's H post. Thats how the woking bit came in, Anthony never mentioned Woking once in any of his posts. |
