Hello Again,
I have been wondering this lately, and was wondering if some of the members or guests could help me out here. Exactly which countries recived full prints of the classic Hartnell Who story "The Myth Makers" ? If anyone could help here it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,Lance.

There's an in-depth guide somewhere on the RT site (Archives section, I think) in Word format detailing overseas sales of incomplete or completely lost stories as complete as possible.

New Zealand sent its copies to Singapore on 20 September 1972. All 4 episodes had been cut by the NZ censor... Jon Preddle

Would this just include the British colonies, or those islands controlled by other countries (i.e Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, etc.)

Jon Preddle Would this mean then that neworks from the individual countries would have purchased Doctor Who for broadcast, or was this a group package of some sort?

Were any of the countries that Jon Preddle listed earlier still posess thier episodes? Have any of the television stations, that these episodes were sent to, been contacted to see if they still posess thier episodes in thier archives? Just currious.
Thanks,Lance.

They probably have been checked, but you never know.

Harking back to the Beerdrinkers thread, the chap there who claims to have missing who, the first episode of "The Myth Makers". If this rumor is indeed true, it seems like an uncanny coinsidence that a few weeks after I posted this thread a guy appears claiming to have an episode from the very episode that I am talking about. Strange, very strange indeed. I will be blown away if this rumor about the "Temple of Secrets" (Ep 1 of Myth Makers ) is true. If anyone has any thoughts or info on this subject please feel free to post a reply.
Thanks,Lance.

Hi Lance The Beer Drinker rumour about Marco Polo & Myth Makers has been around for almost a year now. It seems to die and then Anthony H keeps ressurecting it on the board over there which has nothing to do with missing episodes.

I find it hard to believe that any rumour starting at a message board (especially one about Doctor Who or missing episodes) will ever turn out to be true. The real discoveries tend to start on eBay, online listings of collector's films and, most likely, through private contact between the owner of the episode and with someone "official", such as the BBC or Restoration Team. Take Day of Armaggedon, for example, there was no rumours ahead of that recovery. The Lion too. (And The Tomb of the Cybermen.)

So,does anyone truely believe that any episodes of the Myth Makers exist ? Has the chap from the beerdrinkers site truely seen the missing episodes? Or is it just another annoying hoaxer? If anyone has any ideas feel free to drop a reply.
Thanks,Lance.

My instinct tells me it's a hoax - none of it seems likely least of all posting on that site, which is obsure and hardly the type you accidentally surf into.

Probably Right,
The past two episode recoveries had no mass rumors preceding thier discovery, in the case of the Lion and Day of Armageddon ( Great Episode ). Does anyone here believe that 2005 will unyeild any missing episodes in light of the new series and all? Or what about that rumor that two episodes of Masterplan and one episode of Celestial Toymaker exist somewhere in Canada? Any opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks,Lance.
