Yes, it would be totally awesome to see a "Doctor Who: Space Pirates" DVD release. But first we have to see if this is a hoax, which I doubt that this is indeed a hoax, of course I could be wrong. As was stated before in this thread that these things take time, and in this particular case it now seems that this could take some time. I am sure that the fact of a missing episode being released on DVD, that most fans would love to see any missing story recovered would create a wave of anticipation and delight at seeing some new footage of vintage Who. Lets just hope that this is not another hoax, and that we might actually be able to see the Space Pirates in its full glory.

Sorry but I'm a bit confused.
Does the rumour on the Beerdrinkers site have anything to do with the Space Pirates? I thought it was 2 episodes of Marco Polo and 1 episode of the Myth Makers.
It seems to me that we are getting all our threads mixed and creating wrong impressions of what is really happening.
There are a few rumours around at the moment and I just hope that a least one pans out to be true.

Both of these rumours revolve around someone called Bernie - coincidence? I'm betting they're both hoaxes. Also bear in mind the date - near the end of March folks!

The Space Pirates is not a hoax thankyou very much. Its highly likely that the Bernie in the both rumours is the same guy. I can assure you that Bernie Kent is a real person. So there maybe something in this Polo romour. When Adrian offered to contact Bernie I asked him if he could ask Bernie if he ever possed Rider From Shan-TU.

The thing that amazes me is that if you wanted to create a hoax, why would you bother to research up on a real person, most say a friend down the road has....... In my experience HOAXERS don't bother claiming real people have episodes.

In my experience HOAXERS don't bother claiming real people have episodes. Maybe you've answered your own question? To give it a sense of truthfulness. To quote The Master, "For a lie to work, it must be shrouded in truth". Incidentally, I wasn't claiming that you were lying/hoaxing, Stephen. But I seriously doubt that anything to do with Bernie is real. Whilst I admit that it is one of the better claims, it does just seem so confused and mixed up (maybe this is down to us fans - "I read over at X that A had been found"; "My friend read over Y that B and C have been found" etc) to be believable. Hopefully, you can prove me wrong!

Hey Steven:
You mentioned earlier in my "Missing Who in the Tropics" thread that in Toronto Canada there exists a film warehouse full of unchecked film? Can anything be done currently to see if the film can be checked? Maybe the Doctor Who canadian fan clubs could get in contact with this warehouse and see about these unchecked film archive? There could even possibly be some missing who to be found, just lying on an old dusty shelf waiting to be found. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,Lance.

Lance, I'm sure fans in Canada have been trying for years to get into that archive. But the response had always been in the manner of Travis Tritt's "Here's a quarter call someone who cares." There's a better chance of a Dixie Chicks concert at the White House in the next four years than that happening.

You are probably right ! Just thought I would flinf that idea out and see what happened. Possibly, in the future when the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation recives more funding, then the archives might be remembered ! But odds are that that is a long way down the road. If anyone else has any ideas upon this subject leave a reply.
Thanks,Lance.
P.S. Steven: Still no word from Adrian on Space Pirates ?

There is no unarchived CBC archive here ... they passed copies of all their material on years ago to the national archives. Where do you get this stuff??? Wasn't this one debunked decades ago?? Nick

A fellow poster by the name of Steven Neve who started this thread posted that info about the CBC quite a while ago. I was merely asking if there was any fact attached to that statement.
Thanks,Lance.

Thanks,Lance. I presume you mean about the uncatalouged warehouse in Toronto, IF NOT I haven't got an earthly what your on about Nicholas. I was only stating what I knew about the warehouse, looks like Richard has cleared this matter up now.
