i like that the bbc paid for the programs they made, dont you mean the license payers paid for the this with money they are forced to give every year. i am sure if the public were given the choice there would be no bbc. regards.

Hello All
Unfortunately the society that we all live in, is about making money or gains in whatever areas people can. The days where you can get things for free are now long gone. The point I was trying to make was that by offering a reward - whatever it may be - might unearth some lost episodes - if there are any left to unearth. My belief is that there are still some episodes out there somewhere. I also agree with jlaird as if these programs are made with the british TV licence fees that all of us pay then these programs surely belong to the british public and not the BBC.
Regards
Dennis

Daleks are always popular. They were the sole reason the show wasn't axed very early on. However, even with that in mind, the search goes on and on, but one loses hope that any more eps will be found. People are just no damn good and tend to wipe things or throw them away or over-play them till the tape snaps, so I have serious doubts about ever seeing lost Dalek episodes. And it's no good talking to the BBC. You just ask Ian Levine!!

I also agree with jlaird as if these programs are made with the british TV licence fees that all of us pay then these programs surely belong to the british public and not the BBC. Surely by the same logic, ITV programs are paid for out of advertising revenue which ultimately comes out of the consumers' pockets, so all ITV programs should also belong to the British public. Mind you, some of the BBC's programs are paid for my revenue raised by sales to overseas TV stations. I pay my taxes which funds the ABC who've paid the BBC, so in actual fact some of those programs are mine. So hands off 'em. Remember folks, just because your taxes paid for the street lights, it doesn't mean you can take them down and put them in your back yard...

There's lots of people around here who've got a grip.
They're typing with the other hand, though... ;D

Thanks James, The BBC already pay "researchers" huge sums of money to find film items (I should know, I am one!) so why not extend that courtesy to those who've maybe spent considerable time and money acquiring such items? I take note of your other comments. You're paid to research film items. Is this to research missing items for archiving purposes, or items for use in programmes that are currently in production?

What went through your head when Day of Armageddon turned up..?
