Now there is a well estblished Forum for missing Episodes, is the beeb record Archive complete?...now theres a thought....

When you say "record" archive, do you mean; 1 - records, as in black discs with a groove on either side that play music, or 2 - records, as in the documents about programmes?

If you mean those black vinyl things, no it is not.
Often on Radio 2's Sounds of the Sixties (for example) the presenter mentions songs that the archive no longer has a copy of....

Yes paul...i do mean those Black vinyl things....sure do miss `em`.....just wanted to know what is, what is not there, how about a forum for missing records?...might be interesting.....agree?

During the 50`s Beeb employees probably trashed the Rock`n`Roll collection, being at the time the music being a bad influence on children....could be wrong though....

The difference between a disc archive and a programme archive being thrown out though is huge. Discs are generally out there somewhere in their hundreds and could probably be traced again. With the programmes being junked, it was sometimes the case that it was the only copy of a show (or one of just a few) that was thrown out, with the result of the show being lost for good.

...so the possiblity of a few goon shows lying in some second-hand shop may be possible, in your opinion gentlemen, which archive recived more attention?...disc or film?....and NO!!!....I`m not "Trolling"....
