Does anyone remember Nicholas Courtney recieving a copy of invasion 1 from a fan, but being disappointed when it had no sound. Does it exist and can they dub sound onto it as we now have all the audios for the missing episodes from the very fans themselves?

I always find it slightly bizarre the way people just assume that everyone on this forum must know that "Invasion pt 1" must be a Dr Who episode. Surely there are members here who know next to sod all about Dr Who??
It reminds me of an amusing story of Jon Pertwee's one-man shows, which was attended by both Dr Who and Navy Lark fans (the latter of which were rather older). He invited questions from the audience, the first of which began with the snivelling words:
"In Spearhead from Space....."
;D
(for those unaware, Spearhead from Space was his first Dr Who serial)

Unfortunately, the rumor of Mr. Courtney receiving both missing episodes of "Invasion" without sound was just that, a rumor, and nothing more. Sound recordings for all missing episodes of Dr. Who do indeed exist and amalgamating these with mute film or video would certainly be be more than possible. If only...

I seem to remember that this was due to a error in a Dr Who magazine interview. I was a keen-eyed ten-year-old at the time and I promptly wrote in and told them that a Dr Who actor was holding a missing episode. I got some really nice letters back from JNT (Dr Who producer) and the BBC Archive Selector (along with a Tom Baker postcard) to say that they'd contacted Nick Courtney and confirmed that, whilst his copy of the first episode on the tape had no sound, it was infact a recording of episode 2. Ah, those happy days of episode hunting!

Don't worry about it then, it's not a missing episode unless your copy is color.

Hello, Mr. Joe Kingdom.
Here on this site some fans are skeptical about people just claiming to have an missing episode. So you have to understand thier skepticism. I would like to believe you, I was wondering if you might be able to get hold of a camcorder and point it at the screen for a while, say 15-20 minutes worth, and semd me the tape. I will view it and if you are genuine, I will make contact with the restoration team and you can forward the episode to them. If you would like to contact me, here is my e-mail address:
stereofreak01@hotmail.com
The sooner you can contact me or the Doctor Who Restoration team ( just send them an e-mail if you wish at info@restoration-team.co.uk ), the sooner we can get the episode along to the BBC, and to the fans.
Thanks,Lance.

If it has dinosaurs at the end, it sounds like Jo has part one of "Invasion of the Dinosaurs" which was labeled "Invasion". This is decidedly not missing....
