Hello All
I have been sorting through my dads old collection of 1/4 inch tape. Among a large collection of Goon Shows and Hankocks Half Hour none of which seem to be missing ones unfortunately. I have found the following that I haven't been able to find in the BBC online catalogue:-
I'm sorry I'll Read That Again 3 ep's of season 7? (all missing first few or last few minutes)
Semprini Serenade 100th show 1961
Semprini Serenade Spring 1962 (Includes newsflash about Scott Carpenter returning safely from orbit)
BBC session (Peal session?) Leonard Coin
Valley Folk Session My Kind of Folk
Victor Borgue International Piano Library Concert. (This might be a recording of a record though)
Singing Together Several of these probably from 70's
Various news broadcasts from 70's
There is likely to be more additions and detail to this list as I continue to sort them out.
I have tried contacting the BBC but have been met with silence. If their is anything people think would be of interest to them? What's the best way to contact them?
Regards

The John Peel session would be Leonard Cohen, but I've no idea if it's missing. Any clue as to date??

The Goon Show's and Hancock Half Hour's mostly seem to be recordings of 70's repeats. I have double checked them and there is nothing listed as missing among them. Does anyone have or know of a definitive list of missing I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again shows? The BBC cataloge lacks any descriptive information. The John Peel session would be Leonard Cohen, but I've no idea if it's missing. Any clue as to date?? I only skimmed through the Leonard Cohen quickly I will have a proper listen see what I can find. Regards

Yes, Apart from what may account for a few small sections they are all accounted for in very good quality - most in broadcast quality infact! Even those small sections (all early shows) exist although the quality is not so good!

Thanks. According to that It sounds like epesodes 1,2,3 of seson 6. After having a proper listen to the Lenoad Cohen I have changed my opinion and don't think it is a Peel Session. It seemes to be one of a series of programes of him broadcast at 10pm on a Saturday night probably between about 1969 and 1971. Does that ring any bells with anyone? Other things that have turned up The Best Of American Comedy With Bob Newhart Beyond Our Ken 'Under Two Flags' probably recorded in 1962

Bit late picking up on this one, but good recordings of the Time Trousers series seem few and far between. (incidentally, RW list this as series 6; I and many others have it as series 7, series 1 being three shows in 1964).
I have 10 1/2 shows from this series, but alas absolutely abysmal recordings for the most part.

Still flippin tons on both Reel to reel and standard cassette that I need to transfer to mp3 yet. Its finding the time. As far as the BEEBs collection goes, I have no idea. I dont suppose they will have many, to be honest. They kept precious few of the Tom Browne TOP 20s from the early 70s. Theres not a lot of those Im missing. Its a sin and a shame that these shows arent kept in the archives. Just like TOTP, theres so many missing, its tragic.
They should take a leaf out of the Americans books, most of the many Stations keep excellent archives of classic shows. The Casey Kasem AT40s a classic example.

What was the format of these shows ? Were they a chart based programme with records or special live performances?
