I don't think many were used on British TV between Kenneth Tynan & the Bill Grundy interview of the Sex Pistols. The one they missed of course was the drummer of Lieutenant Pigeon saying 'f#ck you!' after his hat got pulled down by the bassist on the Xmas 1972 TOTP. I pointed it out some years back on maybe this Forum or somewhere and unfortunately the BBC have now edited it out, effectively, by turning the volume down at the moment he f-bombs. There are a couple of uploads of it on youtube. I think one of them has the f-word audible. Remember, everyone, profanity is NOT big and NOT clever. And neither am I !!!!!!

That's the appearance, yes. I can't hear the audio (my PC has no audio, £20, you know....), but as it's from an Einsfestival rebroadcast, it's probably got the swearing. Happens around 1.08 or just after, IIRC.

One of the extras in Timelash supposedly says another 4 letter word that's audible.

Does anyone happen to know if the Oct 10th, 1972 episode exists in complete or partial form? I have a really lo-fi audio recording of an interview with Lou Reed from that date, and was wondering if the video may still be around. Dave Evans appeared on the same episode, and this seems to be a clip from that: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUgIAk1sIOE&ab_channel=GtrWorkShp

Incidentally, the other piece Dave Evans performed on that episode, "Stagefright", also exists, and was included in one part of the "Guitar Heroes At The BBC" series:

Can anyone tell me if the film made by The Old Grey Whistle Test for Queen's Keep Yourself Alive was actually part of the July 24th broadcast in 1973? This track was featured on an episode, but as it was received as a white label Queen were not actually credited. I've seen it listed as part of the 24.7.73 broadcast but have no other confirmation, perhaps somebody here does? I would love to see it if anyone has it. Thanks in advance.

Sorry but that video is actually from the 31.10.78 episode of TOGWT, and was made for the Queen track Dead On Time. Somebody changed the audio to try and fool everyone it was from the earlier 1973 broadcast that featured Keep Yourself Alive. The correct 1973 film features a cartoon train, Bob Harris talks about it here--
