In addition to what is listed above, the following TYLS clips are also known to survive:
The Redcaps - Talkin' Bout You (probably from 4/1/64 ep) Gregory Phillips - Everybody Knows (probably from 11/1/64 ep) Eden Kane - Boys Cry (probably from 4/1/64 ep) Doug Sheldon - Mickey's Monkey (probably from 28/12/63 ep) Kathy Kirby - Secret Love (probably from 11/1/64 ep) The Merseybeats - I Think Of You (probably from 4/1/64 ep) Dave Clark 5 - Bits & Pieces (probably from 15/2/64 ep) Dave Clark 5 - All Of The Time (probably from 15/2/64 ep)
The 2 DC5 songs were performed one after the other.

What is ironic about all the junking is that in many cases the scripts (almost certainly) exist and in a lot of cases the related paperwork and even off air photographs/film. I suppose we are lucky that there are a fair number of off air audio recordings (not sure about TYLS itself although that was all mimed I believe).
Always easy to be wise after the event though....

The Beatles performance of Money from 26/10/63 (filmed 20/10/63) exists. I don't know if this has already been covered in any threads, but I spotted on lostshows.com that that episode is meant to be completely missing. I realize the lost shows website (brilliant though it is) has a few errors here and there, but thought I would mention this one.

There is some other existing TYLS material in addition to the few complete shows that are known to exist (three at last count). The Beatles' Anthology, for instance, used good quality material from at least two shows that otherwise are not known to survive, one included a Brian Matthew piece to camera. There is also a Gerry & The Pacemakers clip known to Kal that resides in a private collection and a few other bits and pieces. So there may be other material out there too. Out of such a high number of TYLS shows transmitted though, i'd say that the law of averages makes this fairly likely.

We know very little about inserts from TYLS that survive, just rumours, never seen any clips from orphaned shows. Seriously, do enlighten us so we can update the db.

I can check those clips for you, Chris. Being the time of year it is though, it might not be for a few days!

In addition to the three known shows and the clips listed above there is also a top quality film (with audio) title sequence used in 1965 which survives featuring a Pin Table in play complete with images of The Beatles and the TYLS logo.

I've got a low quality VHS rip of Lucky Stars on Merseyside. It's definitaley originally from video tape, there is no Kinescope look, and the motion is fluid like videotape. I did see on youtube a very high quality clip of Cilla Black's appearance though. What my copy looks like: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDPmN4-fPXIthe better quality clip: www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6f65B4CUlI

The Merseyside edition was recovered on 2" VT master tape from Australia a few years ago now. Clips were screened at MBW. It's not a missing item.

That's good to know. A nth generation copy has been in circulation for a few years and I'd often wondered if a master existed or just the fuzzy copy we've mostly seen. A good enjoyable little time capsule. Nice to see the Cilla performance in much better quality... especially since it's one of the only discs of hers I like.

According to TBS for many years ABC & Redifussion kept their export sales seperate from the day to day running of Thames.
It's a shame there was a clearout after that long just sitting on the shelves.
Also Southern kept selling some programming into the 1980s, with Worzel Gummage being shown on Channel 4 in 1987.

A complete listing of finds in the last few years is permanently posted in the Raiders recoveries thread at the top of the general TV page so people can see what's turned up.

PS Orange junked my websites! They wanted cash so I let them lapse. Hopefully one day I'll set up a more permanent TYLS website. Did you ever do anything about this, Kev? Or, if not, do you still have all the data? If so, a friend of mine might be interested in resurrecting it. Basically, he does the tech stuff and I pay for the hosting. It would be a shame if the info on the series exists but is not currently on-line. Well, just a suggestion.
