Does anyone reading this actually have these '60s / '70s Swiss DVDs? I was hoping somebody could give us a quick idea of what they are actually like / worth buying? Are the clips: mainly from TV? Complete? Are promo films also mixed in there? Are there any captions on screen during the performances? Any help would be appreciated. I want to buy these if they are what I HOPE they are!

Lawrence I have 60's Volume 1. £11.99 from HMV though I've seen other volumes in this series in other branches for £19.99. Here's a rundown although I'm not too familiar with a lot of these artists (b. 1967) so others may need to chip in.
Neil Christian That's Nice Beat Club full clip with no intro
Herd From The Underworld Beatclub with an intro showing the Thames & Big Ben inter-cuts between studio and band walking in fields.
DDDBM & T Zabadaki cine film starts with shot of Trafalgar Square and band in Paris. At no point do the band mime to the tune though there are shots of them playing instruments with BBC cameramen in attendance
Herd Paradise Lost B/W promo film inter-cuts with studio performance from Beatclub
Move Firebrigade Full clip from Beatclub with no intro
Herd I Don't Want Our Loving To Die Full Studio performance from Beatclub with no intro
Gary Pucket Young Girl B/W promo film
Family Dogg Brown Eyed Girl Full Studio performance from Beatclub with no intro
Move Blackberry Way Full Studio performance from Beatclub with no intro
Marmalade Baby Make It Soon Promo film shot outdoors with band performing and shots of a horse & carriage
DDBM & T Don Juan Full Studio performance from Beatclub with no intro
The Hollies Sorry Suzanne Full Studio performance from Beatclub with no intro
Family Dogg A Way Of Life Full Studio performance from Beatclub with no intro
Move Curly Full Studio performance from Beatclub with no intro
Joe Dolan Teresa Full Studio performance from Hits a go go with no intro
J. Vincent Edwards Thanks Full Studio performance from Hits a go go with no intro
Aphrodite's Child Marie Jolie Colour & B/W promo film slowed down probably performing another track. Notes say this was originally a b side.
Lou Christie I'm Gonna Make You Mine Promo film set at a scrap yard.
Overall I like the fact that all the clips are full and unlike Classic Pictures DVD's the first 30 seconds of the performances are not lost to graphics. The sound has been upgraded as they are all mimed performances. Booklet gives information from which show the clips are from & year.

Thanks for the very useful info! I must try and get these - makes it easier if they are on sale in HMV rather than struggle to try and get them from abroad.

Just picked up BR's DVD comp. of Shocking Blue material and, whaddya know, it includes a TOTP performance of "Venus." Very nice quality too. has anyone found an online source for ordering BR's stuff? Is there a Dutch equivalent of Amazon? The DDDBM+T would appear to include two tracks from "A Whole Scene Going." Pant, drool, zabadak etc.

Just a heads up to check this site www.brmusictwo.com/ out for various performances from the 60's & 70's (Hit the Dvd/Video Link) I'm not sure what is rare or not, but i can tell you the David Bowie performance of Space Oddity on Swiss TV's Hits A Go Go 12.11.69 certainly is! It's on Remember the 60's Vol. 4 DVD. Not only are their European Shows but UK too, Colour Me Pop etc! The Dvd's come with DTS Sound also. Out of interest, Tim, did you or anyone else ever manage to get volumes 3 and 4 of the '60s "Remember" series mentioned here? Anywhere that stocks the series only seems to go to volume 2 (were more actually released)? I've been trying to get hold of these later ones for ages and no one seems to have them. Any help appreciated.

I have both volumes 3 and 4 of the Remember The 60's series. Here's what's on them. I'll leave all the foreign stuff off if you don't mind. Some real treats from this company though, the best releasing music compilations without a doubt.
REMEMBER THE 60's VOL 3 Moody Blues-Go Now (Promo) Spencer Davis Group-Keep On Running (Zodiac) Sonny & Cher-Sing C'Est La Vie (Tienerklanken) Sonny & Cher-The Beat Goes On (Tienerklanken) Scott McKenzie-Like An Old Time Movie (Tienerklanken) Kinks-Autumn Almanac (This is the long lost TOTP perf everyone has seen over the years, but it is listed as being from a show called Vjoew. Maybe this show has other TOTP performances in their archives?) Bee Gees-World (Vjoew) Marmalade-I See The Rain (Twien) Status Quo-Ice In The Sun (Tienerklanken) Roy Orbison-Oh Pretty Woman (Combo)
REMEMBER THE 60's VOL 4 Barry Ryan-Eloise (Disco) Manfred Mann-Up The Junction (Moef GaGa) Fortunes-Fire Brigade (Promo/a great cover of The Move's song) Moody Blues-Legend Of A Mind (Tienerklanken) Small Faces-Lazy Sunday (Tienerklanken) The Move-Beautiful Daughter (Colour Me Pop) The Marbles-Walls Fell Down (Hits A GoGo) David Bowie-Space Oddity (Hits A GoGo) Hollies-He Ain't Heavy (Pop Goes The Sixties) Stev & Albert-Follow The Bouncing Ball (Top Of The Pops) Moody Blues-Tuesday Afternoon (Jazz Bilzen) Blue Mink-Melting Pot (Ivor Novello Awards)
Check out my new post for this companys new collections.

That was on a Rll & Roll Greatest Years tape released some years ago now. Think it's deleted.
