the 1968 single recorded by the Lemon Tree had a promo made by (The) Mike mansfield at an oil/gas refinery? does it still exist and has anyone seen it? (the promo not the refinery although free free to answer both questions)

never heard of the Mike Mansfield group are you sure it was not Keith Mansfield?
any idea what was the premise of the film, having a lemon tree in an oil refinery?

Mike Mansfield was the bloke who did Supersonic in the 70's.
Brian Matthew mentioned this promo in SOTS. He didn't say he had seen it though. Could be a reference from a book.

You are getting into some of the more obscure British Psychedelia there.
But as alot of these 60's promos were funded and filmed by the record companies, their survival rate is much higher than that filmed by the TV stations. So I guess either Mike Manfield or who ever owns the Lemon Trees back catalogue may still have a copy.

yes this was a privatly funded promo by their manager
good idea to contact MM I'll see if I can get an address
the lemon tree only got to perform this on totp once and that was "live" so no chance for the promo there, I hope they got their moneys worth from it.

There exists for example a beautiful 35mm colour promotional film clip of 'Portobello Road' by The Spectrum from around 1968, filmed at the location. Bloody hell, how many copies would that 45 have sold?
