The existing clips amount to something like 13 minutes worth of material - Blodwyn Pig, Rare Bird, Jethro Tull, Badfinger plus some links and audience dancing to Mary Hopkin track.

What's the story behind this edition then? How come some is in colour? Presumably the rest exists in Black and white 16mm telecording?

That colour material from 29/1/70 is on a engineers compilation reel that also includes other colour TOTP material from 1970. This material is listed as existing although it's staus is possibly uncertain. The complete edition exists as a b/w t/r copy additionally.

this has to be a candidate for vidfire and colourising, I know it's costly but if it was done this edition could be more easliy used for clips and compilations

Does this mean that every time someone hints at the possibility that they might have (or might have seen) an episode of Top Of The Pops which you don't have, and you predictably reply, "Can I have a copy of that?", the poor blighter you're tapping up stands no chance of getting anything in return? I'm glad I keep the details of my video collection to myself, in that case. Jim.

I'm not here to create any controversy or ill will. The fact is I've sent Pete several follow-up e-mails over the last three months (at his e-mail address), and he hasn't replied to any of them. I went to this web site to contact Pete for this reason, and plus it's a great site!
Pete, I never received the e-mail saying that you were passing on a video trade. I thought at least we had plans for me to copy a couple of NTSC DVD's for you to VHS.
This was the last I heard from you:
"From: pete seaton To: Marshall Fish
Hi there.
If I do the 1984 & 1988 TOTP shows that you require. could you do me a little favour (as you're in the USA)
If I LEND you my 2 DVD's of the ...TOTP's s, please could you copy them for me to UK Pal or NTSC videotape, as i cant copy them properly...
thanks
pete"
So, send me an e-mail privately to fishm@rcn.com, and as the Fabs sang, "We can work it out".
Marshall

This material is listed as existing although it's staus is possibly uncertain. The complete edition exists as a b/w t/r copy additionally. do you think there is much chance of more of this engineers stuff turning up? at least theres a better chance than the rest of the Saint/Sinner's material seeing the light of day
