Is TOTP2 just a computer controlled hard disc system with no human intervention at all? I watched it tonight after a long time away, hoping to get some festive spirit, instead it was the same old Slade,Bing, Cliff durge etc clips they have been showing for the past five years. Does anyone make any effort on that show at all? has any of them got any imagination? What the hell is wrong with those people? There must loads of stuff around (not neccesarily Totp produced) that could have been shown?

I recall that in 1997 they showed the Barron Knihgts doing their 1980 Xmas song..some concession to originality there!

As much as I love Mud, Slade & Wizzard, that's all we ever really see. I know alot has been wiped but surely something survives somewhere that could be dug up? I'd love to see Kate Bush doing 'December Will Be Magic Again' and Showaddywaddy's 'Hey Mr Christmas'. What about The Waitresses 'Christmas Wrapping' too. I don't know why they don't get artists to specially record a christmas song to be aired on a christmas special. Last December Blondie toured the UK and kept playing a punky version of 'We Three Kings' as an encore, that would have been fantastic. Sparks also have recorded 'Little Drummer Boy' and the Manic Street Preachers have covered 'Last Christmas'. No imagination at all really...what a shame!

I have been going on about how they could show a couple of complete classic Christmas Day editions from the archives especially as it's their 40th year coming up but no they can't be bothered.
It must be the easiest job in the world working in the TOTP's 2 production office because you don't have to do anything just recycle the same old clips!!!!!!!

ah yes! "Baked Jam Roll i yer Eye" was one of the greatest non-hits of the sixties, right up there with Turquoise's "Tales of Flossie Fillett"
