just been going through the I love 1970

just after the Stylophone bit from the rolf harris show

a black and white TOTP clip charges in, this has pans people dancing and then a logo 1969-72 era and then jimmy savile charges in and introduces Mr David Bowie

well as far as the database goes, the b/w clip with David Bowie and Jimmy Savile intro isnt listed (although IL70) is a BBC programme.

so which show is it from, someone at the beeb should know

Ive just solved this David Bowie Mystery myself.

The Pans People dancing segment to Saville to the intro of Mr Bowie is from the start of the 04/01/73 show which is b/w

The bowie track is... Jean Genie (which I think dies not exist) or does it

the pans people is overdubbed with Sabre Dance which stems from the Rolf Harris Show

Jimmy Saville definitely introduced the Bowie 'Jean Genie' performance on TOTP's (4th Jan 1973?)
