As far as I can gather there hasn't been a high survival rate for EW10. Can somebody tell me just how much survives/doesn't?
Also, can anyone tell me what still exists of 60s soap Compact?
Thanks

Emergency ward 10 survives in fairly high numbers going by data from the kaleidoscope drama guide - around 150 episodes survive, a small proportion measured against it's full output admittedly ( a guesstimate there would be circa 1000 episodes )
Compact which ran for 373 episodes is represented by four editions, two discreet episodes from the start and end of the series (ep. 2 & 373 respectively) and a further two episodes from mid-run in an omnibus edit - presumably from day-time repeats. "United" the BBC's other 1960's proto-soap is completely unrepresented

Thanks David - my ideas on EW10 survival rate were way off the mark but I'm glad that they were! Thanks for cheering me up on that one, but it's a shame about Compact (though at least there are a few episodes rather than none).
I've been on the Kaleidoscope site but couldn't find anything about buying the Kal guides so can you or anyone tell me where there is a list of the guides and who do I contact to obtain them? Cheers

The Kaleidoscope guides are all out of print now - but updated editions will see the light of day over the next few years - starting with the updated drama guide(s) next year - they are an invaluable tool for anyone with a passion for vintage tv - details of availability on the updated guides will doubtless appear here as well as on their own site when they come round.
