Can anyone recall any more dtails on this?
1971 - 72 ITV DAYTIME OVERLAP: 'FREUD ON FOOD' or 'HAPPY HOUSE'; 'JUNKIN'; 'TEA BREAK'; 'SCOTCH CORNER'; 'YOGA FOR HEALTH'; 'SAINT' or 'DANGERMAN' repeats.
72: 'RAINBOW'; 'FIRST REPORT'; 'CROWN COURT'; 'GOOD AFTERNOON'; 'GENERAL HOSPITAL'; 'THE CEDAR TREE'.
Followed by (o - t) 74: 'THE AMAZING WORLD OF KRESKIN' import and 78 'CREZZ' and 'SHADES OF GREENE' and 'ARMCHAIR THRILLER' repeats from 9.00 p.m. But I also seem to recall a couple of 'SHADOWS OF FEAR' in the same slot in early 1973!

And the P.M. period in my mind at the moment - All ITV.
1971 - 4.45 (?) MONDAYS - 'LOST IN SPACE' (repeat).
1971 - FRIDAYS 'The space Kidettes' cartoon.
(also around this time): FLINTSTONES (first repeat since about 1966 I think, when it was on BBC?).
1971 - WEDNESDAYS - 'Danger Man' repeats (did I mention this?) I discovered it by accident; but had to walk a mile from school which ended in the Spring at quarter to four. I had to rush home like mad to catch it. First repeats since around 1966 when the titles sent me out behind the door.
1971 - FRIDAYS - The squiddly diddley show (3 segments: Squiddly Diddly; Winsome witch; and something else ? Special titles with him jumping from a 100 foot ? ladder.
1972 - FRIDAYS - Voyage to the bottom of the sea' repeats following the 1974 - 65 showings. Think BRADY BUNCH followed.

Here is an excellent site on BBC Trade Test Films. It has audio sections for specified segments, such as the Home Made Car with music by Ron Grainer of the BBC radiophonic workshop. There is also a link to a web-fax database of all BBC trade test films used, and a summary and description of the various Trade Test Shows. Enjoy: www.zen77094.zen.co.uk/vintagebroadcasting/bbcttfilms.htmLance.

The trade test films were on BBC, Lance not on the ITV.Network
------------------------------------------------
From what I remember
JUNKIN. presented by John Junkin, was a sort of 1970s Jerry Springer IE a very loud audience show. but of course with 1970s morals.
TEA BREAK was a forrunner to good afternoon . Hosted By Michael Parkinson's and Kenneth Cope's wives
SCOTCH CORNER was YEEHAW! Scots doing stereotypical scot song and dance.
FREUD ON FOOD.Clement Freud cookery programme.
THE CEDAR TREE a soap, a cross between crossroads and upstairs downstairs .IE crossroads production values with an upstair downstairs type set.
YOGA FOR HEALTH an exploitation of the yoga fad that begun with the Beatles in India . Presented by the charming American Richard Hittleman.
SHADOWS OF FEAR A second series was started, but cancelled, surplus episode/s? went out in the afternoon

THE CEDAR TREE a soap, a cross between crossroads and upstairs downstairs .IE crossroads production values with an upstair downstairs type set. As featured in the old Bobby Goldsboro hit "Cedar Tree, how big it grows" .. OK, not really. Used to watch it sometimes. You never saw the Cedar Tree as I recall.

Hartley,
Saw previous posting mentioning the BBC trade test films. This is why I thought it relevant to post it here, since it ties into the rival BBC trade test films. Plus, the site is interesting, and hoped people would enjoy seeing it. So, I apologies if there was any confusion.
Lance.

SHADOWS OF FEAR A second series was started, but cancelled, surplus episode/s? went out in the afternoon Thanks Hartley - I think the final two SHADOWS OF FEAR 'The Partys over' and 'Come into my Parlour' went out in January 1973. Think at 9.00 then the 2.30 - 3.00 p.m. afternoon repeat later in the week or the next Monday. They weren't suitable for kids and repeat showing coincided with a school holiday!!! 'Shades of Greene' was another 9.00 'horror' repeated in the afternoons in 1978. Don't think they repeated 'the blue movie'! This was around the time of the serial 'Cedar tree' and repeat runs of 'The Crezz' and 'Moody and Pegg'. I remember part of an opening of a 'JUNKIN' but not what type of show it was. 'FREUD ON FOOD' was an unbilled comedy (cookery show) and sadly seems to have either been live or the tapes rewiped. TEA BREAK later became 'GOOD AFTERNOON' or that was an oof shoot. As far as I know these daytime shows are not good survivors though YOGA FOR HEALTH was on film; and SHADOWS OF FEAR is held. I recall Richard Hittleman looked Chinese and spoke in a Canadian accent so I assume he was Hawaiian!

Atom Ant?,Secret Squirrel? Seem to think 'SECRET SQUIRREL' was on BBC but may be wrong. It was slightly later than 'WINSOME WITCH'; teatimes 1966 or 67. The theme tune and 'THE IMPOSSIBLES' were my favourites at the time. Some of that stable, as you say, may well have been the fill in cartoons that appeared in the elusive 'SQUIDDLY DIDDLY SHOW'. This 3 cartoon compendium never turns up just the Squiddly shorts.

Yes John Freud on Food was made at Tyne Tees. IIRC I recall Clement saying they recorded 4 a day in order that he didnt have to travel up there too much.
I only recall one Shades of Greene - This was where this old grandad left his house to go on holiday or soemthing- meanwhile some kids moved in and completly gutted the place-so that when he returned and opened his front door all that was standing was the shell of the house , no floors or anything.
