It's mentioned on today's Footage Detectives that they're in negotiations with the BBC.

It’s something that viewers have been requesting for a long time and would follow on well from DODG. Some years ago I sent them a summary of the survivals, iirc there’s a decent amount from the early years.

Absolutely fantastic news. Does anyone know if the TPTV Encore website now holds more than the last couple of episodes of a series to be shown? If not are there plans for a “box set” or all episodes to date function to be added?

Seems that some 339, out of 801, survive. I wonder how often TPTV are going to show it?

Noel has just confirmed it at Monmouth, they’re showing everything that survives. Well it this is accurate then we can assume the run will include the handful of rare episodes only held at the NFA. Think there are four from the sixth season. Good news there!

They’ve done the deal with the BBC who are the copyright holder. Many will remember how a DODG ME turned up while they were showing it and they slotted it in to the run. If I can get any more info I’ll post it here.

I just asked Noel and at the moment they don’t know exactly what they’re getting - we’ve just gotta stay tuned!

Where are you seeing that?
There are some great 70s episodes of course but it's the 60s monochrome ones which made the series such a success - would be a shame to skip then. And TPTV showed the monochrome Dixons too - although there weren't many before you get to the colour series, which isn't the case for Z Cars.

AFAIK they’re trying to get everything that survives - and that’s quite a lot from the early days.

Thanks John. Absence is a good episode, the Cinder Path less so but nice to see Goss back now as a solicitor. I wish they were showing the 60s ones though.
