I was referring to Disney's reputation for removing "unsuitable" images from cartoon films because... cartoons are for kids, right? I'm not 100% sure of specific examples, I'm just playing safe and keeping the tapes. Carol says they removed the cigarettes from later issues of "Pecos Bill", which seems senseless because what is Bill going to roll with his lips and light with a lightning bolt? As for the technical aspects of DVDs, it's over-compression that bugs me rather than the colour. Off the top of my head, I can remember hearing of these. I can't remember (assuming I ever knew) at what points of VHS/DVD/Blu-ray history they happened, if at all, but probably mostly not at first DVD release. Aladdin - toned down song lyrics Rescuers - very brief topless image on wall Make Mine Music - Martins and McCoys section (edited out in USA?), breast reduction on girl in shower Lilo and Stitch - hiding in the dryer Mulan - head butt Saludos Amigos - cigarettes edited Toy Story 2 - casting couch joke Fantasia - sequences with black centaur (This is a bit different; it's a substantial edit and never released at all) There's also the matter (pun intended, I suppose, come to think of it) of some films best at 4:3 being cropped to 16:9 on DVD.

While not totally Disney, Who Framed Roger Rabbit had to be altered when it was found Jessica was going commando in one scene! There have been two edits, one where the scene is cropped & another where some panties have been digitally added.

EEK!! I knew there was something totalitarian lurking in the heart of Disneyland. Those Mickey Mouse ears and forced smiles of terrifying fellowship...
