Great to see that a performance of my very favourite Cliff Richard hit has finally turned up!
It's from ‘ABC of ABC: A Souvenir With Music’, broadcast 30th April 1966.

Excellent!
Always loved this single.
Great Hank Marvin guitar twangy sound!

I love the Stones, but I think Cliff's version has the edge! Shame he doesn't seem to have much affection for it (when Cliff & The Shadows did their 2009 reunion/farewell tour, it was the only Cliff/Shads A-side not performed).

Not a Cliff fan but always liked this one, shame he did not move his career in this direction, but he seems to have made a living without my advice LOL

The driving guitar led harder sound of 'Blue Turns To Grey' was also in evidence on a couple of vocal Shadows 1966 album tracks notably 'One Way To Love' and 'Stay Around' on their 'Shadow Music' album and 'My Way' for the film 'Finders Keepers'
- possibly those and the Cliff/Shadows single were cut at the same sessions ?
a few other tracks by Cliff/Shadows such as the 'B' side; 'What Would I Do (For The Love of A Girl)' which backed 'Visions' in 1966 also had the powering sound too
they should have done more songs in that style I think...

And posting the whole episode to f***ing Youtube is bound to improve DVD Sales endlessly....and you all wonder why everything is killed stone-dead these days in terms of DVD releases.....let us see, I can go to the Network DVD site and support them by buying the DVD, or I can go to Youtube and download the whole thing for nothing...pretty easy choice methinks. Dont get me wrong, Im all for official copyright holders posting material to Youtube, especially if they are able to monetise the material, and there is now many examples of this, which is a great development in the days when streaming has now taken over from physical product - but I dont think this poster qualifies though..and therein lies the problem Absolutely agree wholeheartedly I don't mind seeing 'teasers' on Youtube like the titles and bits of this and that but when some loon posts the whole episode or even the whole series it starts a chain reaction all the way back to the bean counters at places like Network and TPTV who sit there and say stuff like "poor sales/viewing on that one, can we justify a budget for restoration and distribution of its final series?" Network had the problem with the Mrs Thursday show, somebody was continuously uploading the entire 1/2 seasons and so Network never bothered to release the final season 3. TPTV obviously have to make time and effort to find old films and when they proudly announce it,their parade gets rained by the comment "yeah saw it last week on YT didn't think X was much good"

If they don't, then it simply means they didn't like it enough to buy it. I thought that was called common sense?

What is your whining about anyways? That's not what is happening here and I've yet to see a case where a publisher even claimed that piracy was to blame for future releases being cancelled. If they don't want it up they can quite easily have it taken down from youtube. If I can do it so can a group like Network. Take the boomer whining about nebulous nothing elsewhere as it drags these forums and groups into the garbage.
